We are unable to provide a rate as Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide with 14.3% Propiconazole is not labeled to treat entomosporium leaf spot on Hawthorns, it is only listed for rust on them. A better option would be the CuPRO 5000 DF Fungicide, you would use 3 to 5 lbs per acre in 20-50 gallons of water. You will mix 1-2 ounces of Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide with 14.3% Propiconazole per 1,000 sq ft for anthracnose. When using a fungicide such as Honor Guard PPZ the exact amount of water you dilute it with is not important. It is only important to make sure you are using the correct amount of product per 1,000 sq ft of lawn. Use too much and you risk damaging your lawn, use too little and you will not get adequate results. You will need to read the product label to find out how much product you need for the disease you are trying to treat. To decide how much water you want to use, you should mark a 1,000 sq ft area, fill your sprayer with water ONLY, and start walking and spraying just as if you were doing the actual application of herbicide. When you are done walking and spraying the 1,000 sq ft area note how much water it took you to spray that area and that is the amount you will want to mix with the measured product for each 1,000 sq ft area that needs to be treated. You will need to make sure treated areas are irrigated with at least 1/2 inch of water (either by rainfall or by sprinkler) following the application.
Also the label does state that if the disease is present, mix 2 fl. oz. of Honor Guard PPZ per 1,000 sq. ft. with the label rate of a contact fungicide such as Chlorosel Pro 720 Fungicide.
When treating brown patch with Honor Guard Fungicide, you should reapply at 14-21 Day Intervals. We would suggest using the higher rate for curative disease control. Please refer to our Brown Patch Treatment Guide for more information.
