How do I apply Southern Ag Chelated Liquid Iron with a Chapin Hose Sprayer 6005?

Not sure how to apply as instructions are per square foot in lieu of per gallon.

Answer:

If you are applying the Southern Ag Chelated Liquid Iron for shrubs, flowers, etc. (instead of lawns), you can still calibrate the 1 TBS per gallon of water rate with a hose-ened sprayer. With the 6005, you will use the dial on top of the sprayer to select the number of gallons of water you want to dispense. So if you choose the lowest setting on the top dial, which is 3 gallons of water (11 Liters), then you would use 3 TBS of the liquid iron in the reservoir, and then fill with water up to the red "3" line on the "Liquid" side of the reservoir. For lawns, there is a much higher use rate, so you will be forced to use more water per area. For example, if you are using 16 oz of concentrate to treat 2,000 sq ft (the low rate of 8 oz per 1,000 sq ft), then you would put 16 oz in the sprayer reservoir, which should reach to the red "6" line on the reservoir. You would then set the top dial to the 6 gallon setting, and spray until all the product is used up over that 2,000 sq ft area.
