Per the product label for Pennington Fast Acting Lime, for lawns with a pH lower than 5.0, you should use 120 lbs per 5,000 sq ft to get to a desirable pH between 6.8 and 7.2.
Since 24 lbs per 1000 sq ft is a lot of product to use at once, most customers will break that up into multiple applications of about 6 lbs per 1000 sq ft at a time.
While the Pennington Fast Acting Lime can start to work in your soil quickly, keep in mind that you may need multiple seasons and additional dolomitic lime to get soil pH closer to your desired reading.
