Initially, I was checking my bait boxes loaded with this product every other week to replace baits per the label instructions. Now that the infestation is under control, how long should I leave the bait in the bait boxes before replacing with fresh bait? I have 6 bait stations around my house and mice and roof rats are my primary target. I normally place 2 or 3 baits per station for maintenance and I've been replacing the bait every month. Does that seem reasonable? I can go through a box of bait quickly with the monthly replacement. Can I leave the bait in the boxes longer than a month and just check monthly? Just trying to lower my monthly maintenance time and cost. Every now and then the boxes will be empty when I check and I can tell a rat or larger rodent came along and cleaned them out.
Depending on what you are treating, you should maintain a fresh supply of Kaput Mouse Blocks Rodenticide bait every 10-15 days. You can alternate the bait with others, containing different active ingredients, as often as you like. Please see our baiting tips article here for more baiting tips. We also have a mouse control guide below for your reading and reference.
