Aaron from Takoma Park, Maryland writes

Is Drione dust a repellent?

I know that Drione dust can kill roaches, as I have used it before for roaches. But I have heard it somewhere that Drione is a repellent, which is not advised to use against roaches, particularly German. Is this true?

Answer:

Drione Dust will not repel roaches or other insects when applied as directed. Dust is one of many tools you can use to help control a roach infestation. However, if applied too heavily, then insects may avoid the treated areas. What an insecticide dust like Drione Dust will not do is spread from one roach to another, like you would get from a roach bait gel or a non-repellent spray such as Phantom II Aerosol.
