Kathleen from Yorba Linda writes

Is merit 2f harmful on citrus tres

The city sprayed my citrus trees with Tempo SC Ultra (beta-cyfluthrin) and Merit 2F (imidacloprid, a systemic insecticide) to control Asian citrus psyllid. Will the trees fruit and future fruit be compromised and unsafe to consume. I am concerned now for my health. What do you advise?

Answer:

Merit 2F Insecticide is not for use on edible plants/trees including citrus. Tempo SC Ultra should also not be applied to edible vegetation. Any treated fruit should not be consumed.
