IF not what should I use?
Navigator SC Termiticide/Insecticide is labeled for yellow jackets, but keep in mind it isn't a knockdown agent, meaning it will kill the yellow jackets eventually once they come in contact with the treated area.
If you are unsure of where the nest is, have you tried looking outside in the morning or early afternoon? This is when yellow jackets are most active, and chances are you can see where they are going into your home, which usually would be under some siding or through a small opening in brick or around a window. If you can locate their entry point, then it is an easy fix. Early in the morning or late at night, when the yellow jackets are not flying around and not active, you can apply Tempo Dust into the opening using a hand duster. If you can locate the entry point, then this treatment will usually kill all of the yellow jackets within 24 hours. Once there is no more activity, you want to be sure to close the opening with caulk or some other method so future yellow jackets do not try to use the same entry point.
