It appears that I bought the wrong type of duster for my application in the soffit on my house. It did not have a long enough nozzle to reach from the ladder so I extended it with a 2 foot piece of clear plastic tubing...it did not disperse very good and the 60 degree angle I held it at was no help either...the duster worked great when kept even (level) with no extension tubing on the nozzle.

It works but not as designed

I bought this item to replace a bulb-type device I have used for many years but, well, the bulb-type is just plain messy. When I first started using this Insecticide Duster I found I had to really shake it vigorously, constantly, and get the metal ball inside really jumping. Then, I never knew, with each squeeze, if the powder would come out in clumps or none at all. Then one time, I shook vigorously and the cork popped off, spilling most of the powder and the ball out. I found the cork but I never found the ball. Without the ball, however, I found I could rap on the side and it began to work pretty well. It began to puff rather regularly and evenly. So, in the final analysis, it's still a bit of work to have to keep banging on the side of the squeezer, but it shoots the powder out in the direction I point it (which the bulb doesn't do very well, but, really, the powder needs to be dispersed anyway) and is much less messy than the bulb.
