I live in a rural area and the ground is filled with all types of ants. They have piles of dirt everywhere.

What can I use to get rid of them. Would a spray work for several acres?

Answer:

You could use a spray, but granules are typically easier and the preferred method to treat a large area.  If you have all different types of ants, then we would suggest broadcasting Talstar PL granules, which are not only labeled for ants but almost all other insects you may have walking in the yard.  If it is mainly fire ants that you have, we would recommend a fire ant specific bait, of which Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait is the most popular.
