    Q
Can Malathion 57% kill your trees if applied at full strength and not diluted with water? Can fruit be harvested if applied at full strength?
My son didn't mix with water and used it straight from container to tree. I hosed it off about 2 hours latter when I realized the mistake but some of my leaves died.
    A

We would recommend contacting the manufacturer Control Solutions on their contact page regarding using Malathion 57% at full strength and the affects on edibles to be harvested.

    Q
Will Malathion control crane fly larvae(leather jackets) in the lawn?
If so, what would be the dose per gallon. When would be best time of year to apply and temperature?
    A

Malathion 57% is not labeled to be used on lawns or for control of crane flies. You could use a systemic product such as Merit 0.5 G for crane fly larvae. We have more tips in our Crane Fly Prevention Guide here as well.

    Q
What is the rate per gallon for spider mites on tomatoes using Malathion 57%?
It gives a value of rate per acre of 1.5 pints to 2.5 pints, which I don't know how to translate to ml per gallon.
    A

It would break down to 0.55 - 0.73 oz of Malathion 57% per 1,000 square feet. We would recommend using that rate in 1-3 gallons of water in a handheld sprayer. Please see the product label for complete application instructions.
