We have heard of people making tick tubes but unfortunately, using the permethrin in that way is off label and I wouldn't be able to break that down to advise you on how much to use. The best recommendation I can give you is to treat the yard, bushes, shrubs, and foundation of the house with a product labeled for tick control.
For yard treatments, Talstar XTRA Granules is a great product for tick control. It is a granule that is effecitive for 2-3 months after it is watered in, provides a quick knockdow and labeld for many insects. For areas around the home, wooded tree lines, landscape beds, etc. We would recommend ing the liquid version Talstar P to spray inside the shrubs, undersides of the leaves, under overhangs of roofs, patios, or covers. Talstar P lasts 30 days outdoors.
