Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix is only effective on Japanese Beetle Grubs. The states that the product is not currently registered in are states that don't have Japanese Beetle Grubs.
The best time to apply Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix would be in the spring (May), summer (July), and fall (September). It would be too late in the year to apply this product now if you already have freezing temperatures. We would recommend waiting until the Spring to apply. We are not sure if this spreader would be appropriate for application of Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix since Milky Spore Spreader Mix is too light to be used with a broadcast/rotary spreader. It must be placed in concentrated areas on the lawn and that is why it must be used with a drop spreader over every square foot of grass. It requires six applications, usually Spring and Fall for three years to build the number of spores in any one area to millions of spores.

Earthworms are one of the largest food sources for moles, but unfortunately there is no product that will eradicate the earth worms. We would recommend a product like Talpirid Mole Bait. It is a worm shaped bait that moles will consume. It is dropped in active mole runs. You can also use a trap like Talpirid Mole Trap

That would not affect the Spring application of the Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix. However, if you will be doing another treatment this Fall we would recommend tilling before you do that application. It would give the product better coverage and adherance that way to stay in the area where it was originally put.
