With a single time application, Mojave 70 EG herbicide delivers bareground vegetation control of 150 species of weeds, perennial and annual grasses. Application can be done before or after emergence to eliminate weeds in one season. Mojave 70 EG also can be used additionally with other bareground products. It is a dispersible granule that needs to be mixed with surfactant and water and applied to areas for complete bareground such as railroads, along fences, highway rights-of-way, farmyards, utility plant sites, petroleum tank farms, and non-irrigation ditchbanks. Initial application prevents new weeds from appearing, thus eliminating the need for more than one application. Weeds under paved surfaces can also be terminated using Mojave 70 EG.
Always use a surfactant for post-emergent applications. This is a vegetation management product and should only be used by an experienced user as it can leach.

For annual weed control, preferably apply either at late pre-emergence to early post-emergence for best results. For perennial weed control, it must be applied post-emergence to the target weed, since it will not control non-emerged perennial weeds. For maximum effect, weeds should be growing vigorously at the time of post-emergence application and the spray solution should include a surfactant. To achieve the desired residual control with increasing rainfall amounts, higher rate of Mojave 70 EG should be applied.
As a general guideline the Mojave 70 EG rates listed below are recommended for different annual rainfall amounts. Actual use rates will vary depending upon the length of residual control desired, weed pressure and environmental conditions.
Average Annual Rainfall in Inches/Rate per acre
For initial applications, apply at 5 to 6 pounds per acre in combination with another herbicide.
Avoid applications to powdery-dry soil or sand soils when there is little likelihood of rainfall soon after treatment, since subsequent off-target movement of treated soil by water and/or wind may cause damage to adacent desirable plants or crops.
For control of undesirable weeds under paved surfaces, Mojave 70 EG may be used under asphalt, pond liners and other paved areas. However, it can ONLY be used in industrial site or where the pavement has a suitable barrier along the perimeter that prevents encroachment of roots of desirable plants.
It must be mixed with at least 100 gallons of water per acre.

Review of my experiences
By Mike on 07/02/2017
2nd time ordering product on-line. Painless and prompt delivery. My only gripe is I ordered it to be delivered to the rear house. Each time it was delivered to the front house when the shipping label had "back house". Not your fault UPS 2 drivers doesnt read all of the label. Im just glad I was home both times. Product purchase. Mojave 70 EG. 1-5Lbs bag. I wanted Sahara 10Lb bag but the manufacturer isnt making it any more. And the Mojave was their recommended alternative. Sahara was good for 1 round and the area was dead for along time. Looks like Mojave will need another application for the Sahara effect.

Ordering experience

Can I apply a week or a few days before expected rain? What is the best window prior? Sometimes I have time to apply a few days or a week before a rain but do not have time the day before.
Avoid applications of Alligare Mojave 70 EG to powdery-dry soil or sand soils when there is little likelihood of rainfall soon after treatment, since subsequent off-target movement of treated soil by water and/or wind may cause damage to adjacent desirable plants or crops. Please review the full label prior to application for full details on rainfall, irrigation etc. Mojave is known leacher so best to apply when there is not a lot of rain fall expected within about a week or 2 of application
Mojave 70 EG absolutely has the potential risk for migration or movement in the soil with heavy rains if the product is applied to a slope. We would not recommend using Mojave for that area to avoid impacting plants downhill or nearby the treatment zone.
Mojave 70 EG is a professional vegetation management product which should only be used by an experienced applicator, as it can leach to surrounding areas and cause unintended ground sterilization. The general application rate for Mojave 70 EG is 0.5 - 1 lb. per gallon of water, and you should refer to the manufacturer's product label for complete application instructions, and only use as directed.
Because privet is very tough to control, we would suggest cutting the privet and then applying a product with the active ingredient Triclopyr like Fertilome Brush Killer and Stump Killer by brushing the undiluted product onto the freshly cut stumps, which will work to kill the entire root system in 1-6 weeks. You can refer to the manufacturer's product label, and use as directed.
Mojave 70 EG should not be applied where the chemical may contact the roots of desirable trees or other plants. Roots of trees and shrubs may extend a considerable distance beyond the branch extremities; i.e., drip line.

Since Mojave 70 EG will kill anything and everything where it is applied, there is nothing left to hold the dirt in place. So yes, it can cause erosion indirectly.
As long as you keep pets/children out of the area while you treat and until the Mojave 70 EG has had time to completely dry it is safe for pets and people to return and resume normal activity, typically after 4-6 hours.

Mojave 70 EG should be safe for pets to re-enter the area once the application has dried on the soil completely, typically after 4-6 hours. That being said, we have not had customers report having a white residue left on the ground where they have used it before, so we would recommend reaching out to the manufacturer directly to make sure there are no other precautions you should take.
