You will need to wait at least 4 months before planting onions after this product has been applied to a given area. If weeds are already an issue around edibles not listed on the label, we would recommend a glyphosate based product like RoundUp QuikPro to spot treat any weeds.

Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder is not specifically labeled for spotted spurge.Once the weeds have emerged, the main product used for weeds and grasses in an edible garden is a Roundup type product, like our RoundUp QuickPro product, or the all natural product Avenger. These products do not leave a residual that could possibly be soaked up by the roots of your garden. Of course you do not want to get the RoundUp or Avenger product on any plants you want to keep. You should only direct it at the weeds you want to get rid of.
Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder will hurt the seeds, because of its preemergent properties. You want to wait until the plants are actively growing and then apply the product. You should also only use a pre-emergent after planting so you do not disturb the soil where the barrier is.
