  • Asked by Billy from Enid Ok
    06/08/2015
    Q
I ordered the Mosquito Control Kit - Ultimate and was expecting some type of instructions of what to spray (Harmonix Insect Spray, Talstar P and Archer IGR). What do I need to mix together and when? Do I use them all separate?
    A
The Mosquito Control Kit - Ultimate offers the versatility of multiple concentrates that can be mixed and applied at the same time. Dilute Harmonix at a rate of 1.3 oz. of concentrate per gallon of water or per 1,000 square feet for most applications. Higher rates may be used for cleanout of very heavy populations: see the product label for complete use rates. Talstar P and Archer IGR are mixed at 1 oz (of each product) per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft.

  • Asked by Steve from Huntsville, Al
    06/18/2013
    Q
Will the Talstar leave a build up in the Solo Sprayer?
I am concerned that the Talstar will leave a residual that may inhibit the spray nozzle of the Solo backpack sprayers performance.
    A
You would treat the Solo Sprayer as you would any other backpack or hand held sprayer and rinse out the tank and blower with clean water in a triple rinse method. If cleaned properly between uses of any product including the Talstar P, it will not clog the unit or cause any damage. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
    Is this a professional fogger
Is this a profession fogger? I've had many people ask me about why their fogging treatment is so high. Also, do I need an exciter? Thanks, Tim
    A
Yes, all of the items in the Professional Mosquito Kit are of professional grade. You do not have to add Exciter, however it would help to intensify the initial kill.

  • Asked by Rob from Kenosha, Wi
    05/07/2015
    Q
I have a hive of honey bees on my property. Will this product kill or harm the bees?
    A
The Talstar P  that is in the Professional Mosquito Kit is not a selective insecticide, so it will kill any insects that come into contact with treated areas. You can reduce the risk to your bees by keeping applications away from areas where the bees are actively foraging and, and limit application to times when the bees are not active in general.

  • Asked by John from Fort Worth, Tx
    07/22/2015
    Q
Do I need the entire Mosquito Control Kit - Ultimate to control Mosquitoes?
If I'm just wanting to control mosquitos in my two homes (both in Texas), what chemicals/products do I need? Do I need the entire Mosquito Control Kit - Ultimate? Also, who makes the engine on the Solo 451? It is two cycle, right?
    A

Mosquito Control Kit - Ultimate <span new="" roman;="" font-size:medium"="">offers the most versatility, including a Solo 451 Mist Blower with a 2 cycle engine to get the fastest and best coverage with your insecticides. This kit contains two insecticide concentrates, an Insect Growth Regulator, as well as a larvicide so that you can treat both land and standing water. Exciter Insecticide contains natural pyrethrins and Piperonyl Butoxide for a quick knockdown of adult mosquitoes, while Talstar P offers residual protection on mosquito resting areas. Archer IGR prohibits the development of immature mosquitoes, and Altosid Pro-G is a larvicide to treat standing water or areas likely to flood. Using all of these products together is the best way to control mosquito populations. Please see our Mosquito Treatment Article for more tips and information.

    12/09/2015
    Q
Does the Solo 451 Mist Blower operate as a mosquito fogger?
I am looking for a backpack mosquito fogging machine which is mobile. Your advertised fogging machines all appear to be run by electricity and are therefore not mobile.
    A

The Solo 451 Mist Blower is just a backpack mist blower. It is not a fogger machine.

  • Asked by Michael from Alvin, Tx
    06/07/2016
    Q
Can you explain the safety of pets and other animals when using the Mosquito Control Kit - Ultimate?
Will the chemicals that come with this sprayer harm my dogs or other animals. Dogs do eat grass from time to time.
    A

Mosquito Control Kit - Ultimate is safe around animals when used as directed as each label.  Pets and animals should be out of the area during treatment until dry.  The small amount of product left behind would only be enough to harm a small insect.

  • Asked by Ryan from Cincinnati, Ohio
    08/25/2014
    Q
Can the Solo 451 (kit) convert to a regular back pack blower too? Off season from Mosquito control?
I am interested in the kit, and have just started a mosquito control company. In late fall we would not be treating for mosquitos, but would like to use the blower unit for general purpose.
    A
According to manufacturer label, the Solo 451 Mist Blower also enables the removal of leaves, grass, paper, dust or snow, e.g. in gardens, sports stadiums, parking lots or driveways; when used as a sprayer, without filling – without a liquid pump. Please contact Solo directly at 757-245-4228 for further instructions.

  • Asked by Luis from Springfield Va
    03/11/2014
    Q
How do you use the Professional Mosquito Kit indoors?
I have hardwood floors and fine furniture.. so you only spray this on plants or can this be sprayed in the perimeter of the rooms/windows to keep bugs out?
    A
We do not recommend applying Talstar with the Solo 451 mist blower indoors. Talstar can be applied using a hand pump sprayer to indoor cracks and crevices, window and door frames.

  • Asked by Seth from Marianna, Fl
    08/04/2013
    Q
How does the Solo 451 Mist Blower compare to other mist blowers on the market?
I've seen the Solo and now I've seen the Stihl brand of mist blowers. How do they compare to each other. Stihl had some pretty harsh reviews as far as the awkwardness of the blower and the weight. My concern is the Solo may be same way? Is it?
    A
We do not carry any of the Stihl brand blowers so we are not familiar with them or able to compare it to Solo 451.  We have not heard any customers complaining about the weight of the Solo or about it being ackward to carry on their back.  You can read previous customer reviews but clicking here and clicking on the Customer Reviews tab.

  • Asked by Scott from Chardon, Nebraska
    06/20/2015
    Q
Will the products in the Mosquito Control Kit harm dragonfly populations?
    A
While none of the products in the mosquito contro kit are labeled to control dragonflies, we cannot guarantee they would not be harmed if they landed on a surface where the insecticides have been sprayed. Most insecticides on the market are not selective so normally any pest that lands on a treated area could be affected by the ingredients.
