    Q
How do bed bugs move from room to room?
Do I really have to worry about treating my couches out in my living room, if the only place I'm getting bites from is my bed? Do the bugs attach to the clothes I'm wearing and transfer that way? Do I have to worry about bringing them into someone elses house on my clothing?
    A
The reason bed bug populations have exploded all over the country is their ability to move easily on people and in their belongings.  Bed Bugs in New York have been found in cabs, movie theatres, clothing stores, etc.  They can easily attach to clothing or belongings and be transported without detection sometimes.  It is very important to be very thorough and treat any places or surfaces that you congregate or site for a period of time, including the couch.

    Q
What will the return address on the package appear as? I am concerned that my neighbors will be wary of me.
    A
First, let us tell you that our packages are very discreet. We only use plain brown boxes or priority mail boxes, there are no "pest company" logos on the outside of the box. The return label does usually say the name of our company, but it is not big or in a bright color or anything. Also, upon request we can make the return shipping label just say "shipping, shipping" and the name of our company will not be visible at all. If you wish for your package to not have our company name, you can request that option in the "order comments" section while you are placing your order. This box is on the same page where you select your shipping options. If placing your order on the phone, please let the representative know that you would like your package to be discreet.

Be sure to Remove bedding and take the bed apart. Treat the interior framework, joints and cracks in the bed frame. Treat picture frames, moldings, hollow furniture legs, cracks and crevices, along baseboards, and any areas with visible signs of infestation, including rugs and carpet. Treat upholstered furniture by removing or lifting (if possible) the cushions and treating the undersurface. Q
Out of the Bed Bug Kit, which product goes first?
    A
It does not really matter which you use first because all of the products are typically used in different places.  For the most part though, you typically apply the Steri-Fab and Bedlam first (the sprays) and then the dust product last after the sprays are dry.

    Q
What is the best place to apply each product in the New York Bedbug Kit?
Do we have to wait that bedlam dry before using sterifab? Can we use both on the bedframe at the same time?
    A
You should apply liquids first and allow them to dry before you apply dusts. You can spray Bedlam and Sterifab in the same areas but it would be somewhat redundant to do so. We recommend that you use the Sterifab in the most sensitive areas where you may come into skin contact (upholstered furniture, surface of mattresses) and use the Bedlam directly in cracks in crevices where you might not be able to get the Sterifab to go (joints in furniture, tufts, seams and folds of furniture and mattresses, headboards or foot boards). You can also refer to the Bedbug Guide which came with your kit for even more specific instructions on each product.

    Q
Is the New York Bed Bug Kit dangerous for humans?
    A
No, none of our products included in the New York Bedbug Kit are harmful to humans or pets when the directions are followed correctly.  You should always keep children and pets out of the room while you are applying the products.  Once the products have dried, usually after 1 hour, then it is perfectly safe to allow children and pets back into the room.

    Q
Why is there no IGR in the New York Bed Bug Kit? Would adding an IGR get rid of bed bugs and fleas faster?
I purchased the NY Bed Beg Kit. I live in a 800 sq ft one-bedroom apartment in a building with a lot of tenant turnover. I would like to apply something that gives fast extermination and is also long term effective for both bed bugs and fleas.
    A

There is not an IGR included in the New York Bed Bug Kit or any of our bed bug kits.  There really has not been enough research done to show how effective IGR's are in bed bug control.  Gentrol IGR is the only IGR that is actually labeled for use on bed bugs.  However, it is not 100% guaranteed to work every single time in every home.  With that lack of 100%, we don't want to make you pay for it as part of a kit, so we give it to you as an option to purchase separately should you choose to do so.  Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Why was Zenprox Aerosol selected for this kit?
When compared to Kit #2, Zenprox Aerosol appears to fill the roles of both FenvaStar EcoCap and Bedlam.
    A
All of our kits can ship to NY now with the exception of the Commercial Bedbug Kit. We have included the Zenprox Aerosol in this particular kit because many of our NY customers submitted feedback that they simply did not need the bottle of concetrate for the small spaces they were treating.

    Q
What's the most effective insecticide for treating bedbugs that can be shipped to NY state?
Currently I'm considering D-Fense SC, Fenvastar Plus and Zenprox EC. Need something strong that will take care of the problem for good.
    A

For bed bugs in New York, we would recommend the combination of products that comes in our New York Bed Bug Kit if you need to treat 1 to 2 rooms or our Bed Bug Kit #3 if you need to treat 3 to 4 rooms.  These kits combine the most effective products currently for treating an infestation as sprays alone will not be enough to do so.  We have a great guide here that can further explain.
