Surfactant along with blue dye and speedzone do the job. Surfactant removes the surface tension of the water so that the herbicide can soak into the leafs of the weeds and not bead off. It works good so you won't have to retreat the same area.

first, I poured some into a smaller container for better pour control. It's apparent that the surfactant does its job of making the herbicide adhere to the targeted weeds. Everything I spray eventually turns to its white death.

If you buy it by the gallon, this stuff runs about the same cost ($0.30-ish per ounce) as baby shampoo at the store, and it is probably less diluted. I have a fairly large lawn and the first gallon of this product lasted me almost five years, but as far as I know it doesn't have any shelf life limit. I use it with almost everything, since a bit of surfactant is supposedly good for the soil anyway.

Avoid the pint size containers of this, it's very expensive. The gallon jug is the only way to go. Also- Dawn soap is not any cheaper really- so get the correct product for the task.

This product allows for uniform application of any spray you may be applying to your ornamental plantings or grass. It is an essential as far as I am concerned. You don't have to use much to achieve the desired effect.
