Nova Green pH Reducer is 100% organic and a valuable tool for successful crops. It is approved for use in organic production by WSDA (Washington State Dept. of Agriculture). A safe alternative to buffer both soil and water. Use in place of highly corrosive acids that are dangerous to handle and can quickly burn a crop’s delicate roots. It can be utilized on outdoor soil, soilless media mixes and to buffer the pH of water.
Nova Green pH reducer has the added benefit of natural Citric acid, which chelates elements and minerals such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, iron, and others that collect in the soil, during the crop cycle, making them soluble for plant uptake. Furthermore, Citric acid (C6H8O7) bonds to Phosphorus anions (P-), making them soluble and mobile in the rhizosphere and soil solution. This keeps phosphorus, a much needed nutrient, in a form available to plant roots. Citric acid (aka citrate) increases the bio-availability of Phosphorus anions (P-) present in the media. Nutrient uptake is directly dependent on the pH of the solution and the solubility of the nutrients, influencing the ability of roots to uptake all nutrients. By adding citric acid, cations are held in equilibrium.

DETERMINE THE BUFFERING CAPACITY:
The buffering capacity is the ability to resist change in pH and is different for every water supply and soil or soilless mix. Bringing about a pH change in a weakly buffered soil or water will require less pH Reducer than in a highly buffered soil or water. Remember that it is better to begin by adding too little pH Reducer than to add too much. DO NOT add other chemicals to diluted pH Reducer when adjusting pH.
APPLICATION & MIXING:
Lower pH safely and gradually with the gentle formulation of pH Reducer. It’s ideal for use in any spray equipment, and fertigation, irrigation, drip or hydroponics systems. DO NOT mix concentrates together. Always fill tank 3/4 full with water before adding concentrates. Be sure to slowly add pH Reducer to any mix and check with a pH meter or litmus paper until desired pH in reached. It is compatible with other technical materials, including fungicides, however, all product labels must be read to make sure the acidic pH will not affect the performance of the mixture.

Yes, Nova Green pH Reducer can be used to lower the ph in the lawn. It is recommended to take a sample of your soil and test the pH. Add diluted pH Reducer to soil sample and let stand 24 hours. Take another pH reading. If pH is not sufficiently lowered adjust rate accordingly. It is better to slowly adjust soil pH over several waterings. According to the manufacturer, Mix 1-2 ml per gallon water (For larger applications mix 4 fl oz per 100 gal water) Please review the product label for more information and application details.
Nova Green pH Reducer is used for reducing the pH level only. Hi-Yield Soil Sulfur or the Ferti-lome Soil Acidifier plus Iron would be used to reduce alkalinity.
