    Q
    Chigger yard control
Every Summer, June through August, chiggers infest my yard. I live in a suburban area. I keep the grass length between 3 and 4 inches. Most of the back yard receives direct sunlight from morning to late afternoon. We have a few small gardens around the perimeter of the yard. We get chigger bites even when we stay away from the gardens. What can be applied to the lawn to keep the chiggers away throughout the summer, and how often do I need to apply? Will mowing the lawn require application?
    A
Onslaught is a great product for chigger control. Treatments for chiggers should begin in April/May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkempt areas of the lawn and lawn edge. You can also use Onslaught to do a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors.

    Q
Is Onetime Herbicide safe to use on fescue grass and is this a concentrate?
If it is a concentrate, how much area will this 128 ounce product cover? How is it applied and how much area will it cover?
    A
Onetime Herbicide is safe to use on Tall Fescue. However, you should not use Onetime Herbicide on Fine Fescue unless it is part of a seed blend. Onetime Herbicide is a liquid concentrate that should be mixed with water at a rate of 64 oz per acre or 1.45 oz per 1,000 sq feet of treated area. Therefore, 128 oz of Onetime Herbicide will treat a total of 2 acres.

    Q
Can I use the Onetime Herbicide for control of ivy and not kill my oak trees? If not, what would you recommend?
    A
Onetime Herbicide should NOT be applied on trees or shrubs at all per the product label. We recommend that you cut the vine and treat the surrounding area on the the turfgrass with a product labeled to treat the type of ivy you are treating for. We will need some more information to offer you a product recommendation. Please contact us at 866.581.7378.
