The mix rates for Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide will vary depending on where you are treating and what you are treating for. Please refer to the product label for specific use rates for your needs.
The rate for Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide on ornamentals is 1/2 to 1 lb per acre. The rate per gallon of water for spot treatments is 0.2 oz. Since this product is not labeled for use in residential areas, we cannot recommend it for this use. Please let us know what pest(s) you are targeting so that we can recommend an alternate product if you are treating around your home.
Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide is an IRAC Group 1-B Insecticide.
Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide states on the product label: Tank mixing or use of this product with any other product which is not specifically and expressly authorized by the label shall be the exclusive risk of user, applicator and/or application advisor.
CuPRO 5000 is not listed on the label so we would not recommend tank mixing. You would need to apply each separately as directed on the respective labels.
Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide is not labeled for thrips on ornamentals so we are unable to provide mixing instructions. We recommend that you consult with your local cooperative extension office Master Gardener for details on treating the orchids.

Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide is NOT labeled for scale on privets. We recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office for a recommendation. They can determine if the privets have scale or a fungus. Excessive moisture and poor air circulation could also play a part in the planted areas and they will determine if this is also a factor.
According to the product label, Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide should NOT be applied to anything edible. We would be happy to make a product recommendation for treatment if you let us know what type of insect you are treating.
Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide is not for use on residential areas or for fire ants. When treating Fire Ants, it is best to perform both broadcast and mound treatments. Extinguish Plus is actually the product of choice in areas where horses may be kept or will be grazing (as long as the horses will not be used for feed or food). Extinguish Plus combines the power of hydramethylnon with an insect growth regulator (IGR) to kill fire ant workers and prevent queens from laying fertile eggs. The result is complete fire ant colony control. Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait is best used in the spring or early fall, or whenever fire ants are active. The ants will feed off Extinguish Plus and spread the bait throughout the entire colony, halting the infestation within weeks. Bifen IT will kill fire ants if you drench the mound. Orthene 97 cannot be applied to canteloupe or other melons. We would recommend using a product like Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor 10% Permethrin Insecticide to treat stink bugs on cantaloupe.
Othene 97 Spray is only labeled for mealy bugs when treating non-bearing citrus and only gives a rate of 1/2 lb (8 oz) in 100 to 200 gallons per acre. It is not labeled for residential use so we are unable to provide a smaller mix rate. Could you please tell us what you are treating on and where (outside, greenhouse, indoor plants etc) and we can make a more appropriate recommendation?
Orthene 97 is a small pellet formulation but they are small white pellets that could be considered more of a powder. Orthene 97 is not labeled for congtrolling mealybugs on ornamental plants. If you would liek to use a product that works systemically you may want to consider using Dominion 2L which is labeled for mealybugs as well as aphids.
