How PestXpert Pyrethrum PBO Concentrate Works
PestXpert Pyrethrum PBO Concentrate contains two active ingredients, pyrethrins and piperonyl butoxide (PBO). Pyrethrins target the nervous system of the pest, resulting in death. Sometimes, insects can build a resistance to pyrethrins. PBO, when added to pyrethrins, prevents this resistance for better results.
For use outdoors on trees, shrubs, flowers, and other foliage
Combine 0.5 to 1 fluid ounces (3-6 teaspoons) of PestXpert Pyrethrum PBO Concentrate per half-gallon of water in a hand pump sprayer. Do not apply more than 5 teaspoons of PestXpert Pyrethrum PBO Concentrate per 1,000 square feet. Do not spray plants to the point of runoff or dripping.
For use in greenhouses
Consult label for desired water to concentrate mix and spray foliage accordingly. Do not apply more than 10 times per season. Do not harvest until spray has dried.
For indoor/residential use
Consult label for water-solution mixture needed for your needs. Be sure to remove or cover any exposed food or water before spraying. Remove or cover any utensils, plates, or food preparation equipment before spraying. Wash utensils, plates, and food preparation equipment before using after application.
For use as livestock spray
Consult the product label. Choose the dilution of water needed for the pest affecting the livestock. Wet livestock and apply diluted solution to animal. Repeat treatment as needed (consult label). Do not apply more than once per day.
For use as poultry spray
Consult the product label. Choose the dilution of water needed for the pest you are trying to combat. Poultry does not need to be removed from housing when spraying solution. Be sure to spray poultry with a fine mist.
Storage and Disposal
Store in a cool, dry place. Use all materials in the container according to the label. If there is any leftover material that needs to be disposed of, contact your local pesticide disposal program (typically provided by the local government or city council) or waste disposal facility. DO NOT pour PestXpert Pyrethrum PBO Concentrate down the drain or sewer as the product is toxic to aquatic life.

Homemade Horse and Dog Spray

Shipped very fast. With this and permethrin, I can make 4 gallons of horse spray for what I was paying for 2 quarts of commercial brands. Same ingredients minus the sunscreen, which doesn't last anyway. Seems to last every bit as long on the horses as the expensive brand name spray. This serves as a dissolving and sticking agent with the permethrin and makes for a liquid that easily goes through a fine spray nozzle. Tick and flea repellent for dogs too. Read your commercial spray percentages and duplicate with an old measuring cup and add appropriate water to equal the right percentages. Just need a little math and a cheap mixing container with ounces indicated (like one for juices or water), and a spray bottle.

I first mixed a small batch, with small sponge on ice cream bar wood. I rubbed on a strip just under base cabinets next to floor. I then mixed larger batch with outdoor pump spray tank. Sprayed all around the house next to the base and all around in gravel and driveway. The effect was reasonably quick, two hours later hardly nothing. A week later just painted a line under cabinets under and behind the range. Now maybe 1 or 2 per week. got um under control.

PestXpert Pyrethrum PBO Plus Concentrate (60-6) and Exciter both contain the same active ingredients but are made by different companies. The new PestXpert product also is available in a single dose for convenience.

Typically you will use .5 oz -1 oz of PestXpert Pyrethrum PBO Plus Concentrate per half gallon of water, which will cover 1,000 sq feet.
