As a professional, I would recommend gloves and the best Niosh respirator you can afford. A dust mask won't cut it. For fleas this product will last 4-5 weeks on surfaces, provided you don't mop or clean. I recommend you vacuum 24 hours later after treatment. FYI one of the other reviews here was done by someone who didn't read the directions. Please follow all recommendations. Aerosol with no odor. Ingestion of the concentrate material may be an aspiration hazard. Contents under pressure. Concentrate is a combustible liquid.

Beware! Very Strong Odor

I used this product as recommended this morning and while I can't say if it killed the fleas in my home, I can say the smell just about killed me! It's very, very strong so if you're going to use it in the house be sure every window is wide open for the entire day.
