Works like a charm
By Chris on 05/31/2019
Purchased this product from domyown and applied it according to label instructions and this worked perfectly. The WDG works far better than just a granular premergent because you can cover the entire area vs hoping you've spread enough granules to cover the treatment area. Anyone giving this less than 5 stars either didn't apply it correctly or waited too late in the season. Thanks domyown!!

Easy to apply and seems to work
By Dleebrick on 02/23/2018
I chose Barricade because that's what my professional lawn care guy used last year. This is a yellow granular solid that mixes easily with water. This container will last me for a long time, I think. Did my first application on my South Carolina Piedmont lawn three weeks ago, so probably is too early to tell how effective its going to be, but no crabgrass yet. Hope it helps with my poa annua when I apply it this fall.

viscosity....
By Norm on 10/19/2018
Ok...I give...it doesn't work so well in the hose end sprayer. You have to thin the viscosity too much. then you will have to cover smaller areas with more water. So, use the tank as directed. IT WORKS well to cover. I haven't used it long enough to know if it works to prevent germnation of my pao annua and Dallis grass

Effective and economical
By Rick on 09/29/2017
I used this for the first time last Spring and was pleasantly surprised to have very few weeds for the entire season on all of the problem lawns I maintain. It's now almost October and I have seen very little Crabgrass,Spurge or Oxalis. I also like that it doesn't have obnoxious fumes while spraying as my 2nd favorite preemergent does.

Service, Price, and Product Quality
By Jeff on 03/26/2021
The price of all the products are very competitive. I received my order in two days. Every time I order from here, I'm very pleased. Being someone that operates multiple golf courses, it's great to have a site where I can get fertilizers and chemicals to maintain my lawn like a course.

good product
By Charlie on 09/05/2016
Received the product in a timely manner. Searched the internet as to how much to mix for my smaller yard. I mixed 2 tablespoons with 4 gallons of water and spread it over 1000 sq. ft. Don't know the results yet because it has not turned cooler yet in my area. Didn't hurt the grass. Hope for the best

A must for serious yards
By Quinn on 04/08/2022
Using a pre emergent is the first step in the spring to a great lawn and I consider it a must. I like to do a split app but I have had success using one application as well. Just has to be done. Remember if you don't get this product down before crabgrass germinates it's completely useless on those plants.

Prodiamine - DoMyOwn
By Derek on 09/21/2018
I live in New Jersey and sprayed Mid September. This was my first time using Prodiamine. It was easy to pour and mix but, it will leave a yellow coloring inside your spray bottle and hose even after washing it a few times. I can't really say whether it works or not because I just sprayed it. I would highly suggest wearing protection gear while applying. (the yellow coating could end up in your lungs) My yard is roughly 3,000 sqft. I have a 1 Gal sprayer. I mixed 3/4 oz of Prodiamine per 1 Gal and sprayed over a 1000 SF area. I mixed 3 batches over the total 3000 sqft using a total of 2-1/4 oz of Prodiamine and 3 gallons of water. Then I watered the lawn. I plan on doing the same in the late winter early spring. As for DoMyOwn it was easy to order and my package arrived on time. Thank You!

DoMyOwn Review
By Jesus on 04/29/2024
The product works as advertised. For those buying for the first time and are unaware, the dilution ratio for this product is minute and will most likely last you a lifetime (unless you own acres of land). But the reason for writting this review is to acknowledge how amazing it was to order from DoMyOwn! I received this product extremely fast. If you've never ordered from this site, do it, you won't be disappointed

Lawn treatment for Fox tail and crab grass.
By Ray on 04/10/2016
Used this for the first time spring of 2015. Mixed 4 oz. per 15 gallons in my sprayer. Laid out the yard in 1/4 acre sections using google earth. Have been fighting fox tail for years. After using Prodiamine had no weeds in the treated areas. Didn't do another application in late July like I should have so had some fox tail show up in the fall. In 2016 will do two applications and plan on great results.

Great product!
By Richard on 03/02/2020
This is my fourth year using this product. I put down two applications per year and my yard normally stays weed free. I do get a minimal amount of weeds which have been easy to combat with a post emergent product. Maintaining my property has been a learning experience which does take a good amount of time, but when I compare it to the high cost of a lawn company and see the results that I've been able to achieve, I feel that it's time well spent. At the same time, the customer service at "Do my own" has really been there for me with suggestions and solutions when I've had questions about there products. Hope this is a help to all!

Prodiamine 65 WDG Is a Blessing to my Centipede
By Anonymous on 06/10/2013
I sowed my grass in April of 2012. It was used for crops prior to building a house and seeding. I had the ability to water and thankfully received a good amount from the Big Man. However, I kept noticing that the highest part of my yard, didn't come up as expected. Crabgrass outgrew the centipede so I was left with a major problem. In March of 2013 I applied Prodimine 65 WDG to prevent the crabgrass from coming up. It worked great!!!!!! The spaces where my grass hadn't came up, were now dead and the centipede was able to grow across. My yard is not fully covered, but should be by the end of the growing season. If I hadn't sprayed, the crabgrass would have came up and the centipede wouldn't have been able to spread like it did. I used about 1 pound per acre. In the lower parts of my yard the centipede came up really good last year. As I speak, the crabgrass is starting to come back in the lower part because it is very heavy and fertile soil. You could literally grow anything on it. I wish I would have applied the whole 2 pounds per acre so I would have had a residual of approx. 8 months. Lesson Learned. I highly recommend to anyone who is having a weed problem. I am a happy customer!!!!!

Prodiamine
By Troy on 03/27/2020
Got quick, and product is great!! Weigh it out on a scale being it is a dry mixture. For a hand pump sprayer , I used 80 Grains weight for one gallon of water @ 1,000 square feet of grass , grass type is Tall Fescue And Blue Grass . Should provide about 2 months of control , A split type app. Reapply again after 2 months (Apply before rain, so it washes into the soil .) Plan you over seeding according to the app At the end of the protection of after the 2 months scheduled ... Measuring out in tiny bags for easy use of and label ???????? Best regards, Troy.

do not buy, too complicated
By Bob on 03/15/2022
I love "do my own" company. and when they recommend something, 99.99% of the time you can take to the bank. this product is too hard to use and if you mix it to strong, it will kill your grass. two teaspoons per 1000 sq feet. or 0.185-0.55 oz per 1,000 sq ft. the amount of water does not matter. question for everyone??? who is going to mark a 33 x 33 area or a 10 x 100 area, spray that small area, mix up and do it again and again and again. its expensive and too hard to use.
Expert response:
Herbicides are a lot different than other chemical concentrates as the rates you use are not based per gallon of water but per area as water is just the carrier and will vary from person to person due to equipment used and walking speed. The rate used depends on the type of turfgrass you have as well as the program you are following (single application or split) We do recommend calibrating your sprayer if you do not know how much water it takes you to cover the target area to ensure correct application.
You would calibrate by determining the volume of water required to treat 1,000 square feet. Use this calibration volume to determine the amount of water and Prodiamine 65 WDG herbicide needed to treat the target area (see the following calibration example).
Note: Sprayer calibration (volume of spray needed to treat 1,000 square feet) will vary with each individual operator.
Steps in Calibration:
1. Mark an area of 1,000 square feet (i.e. 20 by 50 feet or 25 by 40 feet).
2. Place the sprayer on a level surface and add water noting the final level of water in the spray tank.
3. Spray the marked area with a sufficient volume of water to provide uniform coverage. Refill the sprayer to the same level as before measuring the amount of water added. The measured water added to the sprayer is the volume needed to cover 1,000 square feet.
4. Determine the application rate (fl. oz./1,000 sq. ft.) for Prodiamine 65 WDG from the Recommendations section of this label.
5. To each volume of water used as measured in step 3, add the amount of Prodiamine 65 WDG as determined in step 4.
Example: If the sprayer uses 2 gallons of water to cover 1,000 square feet and the desired application rate of Prodiamine 65 WDG is 0.185 - 0.055 oz/1,000 square feet, then you would add 0.185 - 0.055 oz of Prodiamine 65 WDG to every 2 gallons of water to be used."

Effective Pre-emergent
By William on 08/25/2016
Have been using Prodiamine 65 WDG for the last 2 years and it has done a phenomenal job. Although a few weeds pop in-between applications, they are easy to just pick out myself and toss in the dumpster. The alternative of using a post emergent every 30 days is a poor way to control weeds and crab grass.
