The Tomahawk Model 502R Rigid Pigeon Trap is a double door rigid pigeon trap. It measures 36L x 16W x 8H, is constructed from 1" x 1" - 14 gauge galvanized wire mesh, and weighs 7 lbs. The trap doors consist of a series of independent wire bobs mounted at an angle to entice them into the trap. Bobs fall back into place after pigeons enter, trapping them inside. Model 502R features a convenient release door. It comes assembled with two repeating trap doors and can hold 15+ pigeons at once.

The first time, I propped all the fingers up and baited the trap for a week. Birds went in and out freely. When I set it, I caught 6. The second time, I left one finger down thinking they'd get used to pushing their way in but could still get out. When I set the trap, I caught 12.

I have had the trap set out in the path of the pigeons for 4 days now, and not 1 has gone into the trap.
Expert response:
Are there sharp edges or does the trap hurt pigeons at all? I am trying to catch a pigeon with a broken leg that drags. Will he be able to get into the trap? Then I would like to selectively release the healthy pigeons in order to get him care. Can this work?
The Tomahawk Pigeon Trap Double Door - Model 502R will not harm the pigeons that are caught inside. There should not be any sharp edges. There are no steps for pigeons to climb so an injured bird should be able to get in and there are 2 doors to allow access. The trap doors consist of a series of independent wire bobs mounted at an angle to entice them into the trap. Bobs fall back into place after pigeons enter, trapping them inside

Pigeons are attracted to grains, seeds, bread crumbs, fruits and water. They can be used to lure in the Tomahawk Pigeon Trap Double Door - Model 502R.
