What are the benefits of using Big & J Products?

Big & J products are prepared with proven nutritional ingredients, and designed with state-of-the art supplements so you can ensure that even when our products are being used as attractants, deer are getting that extra nutrition they need to stay healthy and strong.

When you buy a bag of Big & J whitetail deer nutrition products, what you see is what you get. Our ingredient list is noticeably small. The formulation of our deer supplements is designed so that animals consume and retain what they need from Big & J products without adding a ton of gimmicks to make them eat it. Many of these added gimmicks are not beneficial for deer in the long run.

How often should BB2 be re-applied to a site?

We typically recommend that deer supplements sites be freshened every week. This recommendation, however, is dependent on the amount of whitetail deer in your location. Sites with smaller whitetail herds or lower populations could be freshened every two weeks. BB2 deer feed products can be applied as frequently as you like. Keep in mind that while using Big & J products as attractants, gradually introduce feed so herds become aware of deer attractants in their area.

Can I use BB2 in my feeders?

Yes! Big & J deer attractant products have been tested in a wide assortment of feeders and are proven effective in these applications. Big & J products can be used in broadcast feeders as well as gravity feeders, or in simple trough feeders. There is no wrong way to use Big & J deer attractants. A good reminder when using feeders is to clean your feeders once a month. Also remember to move their location to allow Mother Nature to clean the feed site from animal droppings, etc. This will help to ensure continued health and fitness of your whitetail deer herds.

What happens to BB2 if they get wet, and will they mold?

As with any organic deer material, if the conditions are right, the products will mold. Temperature, humidity, and moisture content are factors to be aware of when storing Big & J products. With proper storage however, our deer feed products mold to compromise the product's effectiveness. Proper storage of deer feed is the best way to eliminate the potential for mold.

In addition, Big & J deer attractants don't retain moisture like many other products do. A common base ingredient in whitetail deer nutrition products is flour, which retains moisture and which you won't find in Big & J products. Rain has little effect on Big & J deer feed as water passes through the product allowing it to dry out to its original form without the crusting over common to other products. Rain actually carries some of the minerals into the ground and, once the products are consumed, the deer continues to visit the location just like a mineral-lick site.

In no way will the rain affect the smell or attracting capabilities of our deer feed products!

What is the best time of the year to use BB2  for supplementing?

Year-round nutritional deer supplements provided it is legal in your state or province.

For optimal results however, supplement at the end of whitetail deer hunting season through the winter and heavily again during the spring, once the antlers have dropped. The faster animals are able to regain strength after long, difficult winters, the better off the herd health and antler production.

When used as an attractant, we recommend that you begin providing Big & J deer feed in late spring and continue throughout the season, frequently applying BB2 in and around your deer hunting locations. Please review all state and local regulations before using our products as attractants.

Can BB2 be used as attractants?
