DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use this to remove nuisance and unsightly stumps. HI-YIELD STUMP REMOVER decomposes the wood of tree stumps leaving them porous. The decomposition, depending on the size of the stump, may take several weeks or months. This allows for easy removal or burning of the stump. HI-YIELD STUMP REMOVER is harmless to vegetation surrounding treated stumps. For removal of stumps up to 12” in diameter, drill a 1” hole in center of stump approximately 10” to 12” deep. Drill an additional 1” hole into the side of the stump approximately 3” below the top of the stump. This second hole should be slanted to connect (or nearly so) with the bottom of the center hole. Drill several sets of such holes for stumps larger than 12” wide.

Pour approximately 4 oz. of HI-YIELD STUMP REMOVER into each hole. It works best when weather is warm and stumps are dry. Fill each hole with water. Allow to stand from four to six weeks. If stump is to be burned, refill holes with kerosene or fuel oil. Allow sufficient time for the liquid to be completely absorbed into the stump.

Then apply a slight amount of kerosene over stump and ignite. Or burn charcoal on top of stump or around base to start stump burning. The stump will burn with a smoldering, red glow, clear down to the roots, disintegrating the stump into ashes.

    Time needed

    By Hgc on 11/26/2016

Decomposition of a stump takes time. Several applications --of this or any priloduct, even straight nitrogen-- are needed. No change will be visible for at least a few months. After that, progress is much quicker. Expecting a stump to disappear in a few days or a week is naive at best.

This is a long process .

    By Ted on 07/29/2018

This will take years to work as described. It may not be much less expensive than having the stump removed by pros. I add more product when the level goes down. I started about 100 days ago. I do believe it is working. Ask again a year from now.

    Too soon to tell

    By Gene on 06/26/2020

As advertised, this product takes a very long time to work, on the order of many months. It's only been 4 weeks since I drilled the holes and applied the stump remover, I was not expecting much progress. My stump was only about 10" in diameter cut pretty close to the ground so I've had enough product to refill the holes a couple of times since the initial application.
