Prograss EC Herbicide provides both a pre-emergent and post-emergent control of Poa annua in overseeded bermudagrass and cool-season turf grasses. It is an emulsifiable formula that contains 1.5 pounds of active ingredient per gallon. Prograss EC Herbicide will control Poa through the cool season germination and during its growth period. This control lasts year round and will not only control Poa annua, but also different types of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. It can be applied to various grasses such as St. Augustinegrass, bentgrass, Kentucky bluegrass and perennial ryegrass. It is recommended to control bermudagrass in St. Augustinegrass. It works in arid and humid climates.
Prograss EC Herbicide may be applied to residential lawns by licensed or certified applicators. Prograss EC Herbicide is not intended for use by homeowners.

Q & A:
Why is Poa annua such a problem for golf course superintendents?
Answer:
Poa annua is an annual bluegrass that favors cool, moist conditions for germination and growth, flourishing from fall to spring. Thus, it has a strong competitive edge over many course turfgrasses, and can dominate a stand of grasses that are mowed closely and irrigated regularly.
Which turfgrasses are tolerant of Prograss EC?
Answer:
Prograss EC can be used safely on bermudagrass (dormant, overseeded with ryegrass), creeping bentgrass, Kentucky bluegrass, ryegrass, turf-type tall fescue and St. Augustinegrass (established).
Is Prograss EC safe for overseeded turf?
Answer:
Yes. If safety intervals listed on the label are followed, Prograss EC can be used after overseeding.

Because poa annua and and fescue are so closely related, there are few products that will kill the poa annua without also harming the fescue. The only one we are currently aware of is called Prograss. Your other options would be to either spot-treat with a Roundup-type product and then reseed with the fescue in those areas, or you can use a preemergent like Prodiamine 65 WDG in the fall to prevent the poa from growing in the first place.

According to the Prograss EC Herbicide product label, If overseeding with turf-type tall fescue, you can apply Prograss at the same time you are overseeding, therefore, you could tank mix with Tenacity if overseeding with TTTF.
