    Q
Re: Alpine Flea Insecticide with IGR Aerosol -- does it automatically kill flea eggs and larvae?
Do you need to vacuum immediately after applying this product ? we're hearing different things from different people; such as the flea eggs only get destroyed if you vacuum the carpets after applying this product; but waiting 2 1/2 hours to vacuum after applying this product. How do I get the accurate instructions on how to apply and use this product? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciative. Thank You for your help!
    A
Alpine flea Insecticide with IGR will not kill flea eggs or larvae. It will make some eggs sterile and it will cause the larvae to become non breeding adults. The vacuuming does not destroy eggs. Vacuuming does stimulate the eggs to hatch and the larvae to emerge from the cocoon causing them to be exposed to the product you sprayed. Vacuuming should be done immediately prior to the treatment so as many of immature fleas are exposed as possible. We recommend you continue to vacuum daily or every other day for the following 14 days so more of the immature fleas will be exposed to the treatment. Vacuuming isn't demanded on the product label instructions but we can tell you from experience that it will certainly speed along the flea control program.

    Q
Can you use Alpine Flea Insecticide with IGR Aerosol on hardwood floors and furniture?
I live in an apartment with hardwood floors and a couple area rugs.
    A
Yes, you can use Alpine Flea with IGR on hardwood floors, furniture, area rugs, etc.  It can be applied to almost any surface. However, you should always treat a small area first and allow it to dry before treating the entire area just to make sure there are no issues. The most important part of any flea treatment though is to vacuum very thoroughly before the treatment, then every 2 to 3 days after the treatment.  You should then apply a second treatment in exactly 14 days after the first one.

How do you recommend dealing with bedding and mattresses while using this product?

    Q
What is the best product to kill fleas indoors on hardwood floors?
what is the best way to kill fleas indoors on hardwood floors? It needs to be pet and children safe. Fleas were brought in from stuff at a storage unit we have stored in spare room. Would Precor IGR Concentrate and Demise EC or Ultracide in a sprayer be my best bet or is there a better option? I bought a pump sprayer because my mom bought Hi Yield for me but it's odor is too strong and isn't really drying. It doesn't seem to be what I need. I was told that Alpine Flea Insecticide with IGR will work, but not only will I need to treat the fleas around home but also need to treat many layers of possibly flea egg ridden boxes as I go through them in my storage room. I will need more than just an aerosol can. I need to know my best option available for mixing in a pump spray. I can put cats in carrier outside while I spray and let it dry. Please help!
    A
The fleas you are seeing are coming from the carpeted areas, not from the hardwoods. Fleas use the carpet fibers to lay eggs and hide, but will jump from location to location.  Using Alpine FLea Insecticide with IGR is both convienent and effective. 1 can of Alpine Flea Insecticide with IGR will treat 2625ft and kill the adult fleas fast and also help with the reproduction of the new fleas. You will need repeat this process every 7-14 days with constant vaccuming in the house every day to every other day. Please follow the steps below:
Step 1 - Identify the treatment areas: especially those where pets frequent, such as in and around pet's sleeping and resting areas. These are the primary areas where fleas and their eggs are found. (Before treatment, a test application should be made to upholstery, drapery, light-colored, delicate fabrics, or wood surfaces in an inconspicuous place.)
Step 2 Prepare treatment areas: For best results with Surface/Carpet treatments, vacuum thoroughly before spraying and discard vacuum bag in outside trash. (This product may also be used for infested surfaces inside motor vehicles.)
Step 3 - Apply treatment. For flea infestations, a single can treats over 2000 square feet. SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. Hold can at arm’s length and direct spray toward target area, keeping 36” away from the surface being treated. Using a sweeping motion, apply a light uniform spray to furniture, rugs, carpets, drapes, and around all pet resting areas. Avoid thoroughly wetting surfaces. Mist treated areas only until "slightly damp". Do not over-treat. Reapply in 14 days, if necessary. IMPORTANT: Only complete and proper application to carpets, upholstery, drapes, and other fabrics will provide thorough flea/tick elimination. Keep children and pets out of areas during treatment. Vacate room after treatment, and ventilate until surfaces are dry before reoccupying.
If you are wanting a liquid to mix with water in a 1 gallon pump sprayer, we would recommened you look at our Indoor/Outdoor Flea kit. It is recommended that when you treat the inside of the home, you also treat the outside along with and insect growth regulator.
In your storage room, look at using Precor Plus Fogger with IGR to kill any fleas that are present, then Nuvan Pro Strips  to kill for up to 4 months. We recommend using the Nuvan Pro Strips anywhere you can leave the area closed and undisturbed.

I have fleas on my pets and in my home. What can I use to kill the live adult fleas and prevent a further infestation? My animals have treatment (Revolution for the cat and K9 Advantix for the dogs) on them and I have been doing regular maintenance in the house but it is not making any difference.
