    Q
Is there a way to prevent Ultracide spray from spotting while spraying it on laminate or real hardwood floors?
I am still rather new as a service technician with an exterminator service. Today I was told I could use Ultracide or PT Alpine aerosol on hard floors. I chose Ultracide, which spattered on the floors. I kept using my shoes to rub out the spots. Is there someway to prevent this, or is it common for this to happen?
    A

PT Ultracide is excellent for porous flooring such as concrete, however it may stain finished flooring, such as hardwoods. Also, fleas will rarely harbor on sealed hardwood flooring.   Hold container upside down 2-3 feet from surface, point actuator towards the surface and push button. Using a sweeping motion, apply a light uniform spray to all surfaces of furniture, rugs, carpets, drapes, and around all pet resting areas. Avoid thoroughly wetting surfaces. Mist treated areas only until "slightly damp". Do not over-treat. Reapply in 14 days, if necessary. IMPORTANT: Only complete and proper application to carpets, upholstery, drapes, and other fabrics will provide thorough flea/tick elimination.

    Q
Does PT Ultracide work on carpet moths?
    A

Unfortunately, PT Ultracide is not labeled for carpet moths. If you were looking for an aerosol product to use for clothes moths we would recommend the Cy-Kick Aerosol. This would give you nice residual control as well. We would also recommend that you use the ProPest Clothes Moth Trap. These traps have pheromones in them that attract the male moths which in essence stop the mating process so they can no longer reproduce.

    Q
Why does my PT Ultracide spit out lots of foam even though I shake the can continually?
    A

When using PT Ultracide, it is possible to shake the can too much. We would recommend letting the can settle, then shaking well right before using the product, and then applying the product without shaking it again. That should take care of the issue.

Will PT Ultracide work for bed bugs?
    A

PT Ultracide is not labeled for bed bugs. We would recommend Bedlam Aerosol Insecticide for a bed bug issue. We also would recommend you check out our Bed Bug Kits as well which include the Bedlam. It is usually necessary to treat bed bugs with more than one type of product to get a complete elimnation.

    Q
    How effective is Ultracide?
I recently used this product, 2 days ago to be exact. I have tile floors but I used it to prevent an large infestation in my home. Anyways I haven't seen any fleas on the floor or anything like that, but I did see one on my dog who's been on Frontline Plus for 2 weeks now. I made sure I sprayed all the places where my dog goes and also have been vacuuming. Is it normal to see fleas even after spraying this product?
    A

Ultracide is a great professional flea control product for indoor use. Please vacuum daily (even hard surfaces) and apply Ultracide once every two weeks to fully eliminate the fleas. Please continue using the flea control provided by your vet for your dog. It is important to treat the lawn areas especially those areas the dog will frequent. It is normal to see fleas after spraying. We do carry an Outdoor Flea/Tick that will do a great job, save money and easy to apply once every two weeks. You will want to mow the lawn 1-2 business days prior to application. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Fleas for a more successful eradication program.

    Q
Should I wear a mask to use PT Ultracide?
2 weeks ago I noticed Flea dirt on my dog, last week I began my fight against fleas. Bathed her with Flea and Tick shampoo then a two days ago I began using Fronline Plus. I have seen a few fleas on her since this but I'm seeing that it's normal as they are dying for them to come out to the coat. Anyways I haven't really seen any around my house because I live in an apartment with tile floor everywhere, however I wanna just use this to make sure my home doesn't become a completely infested. Should I wear a mask to use this product, is it safe around babies (7 month and 2 year old), and is it safe for humans/dogs.
    A

Ultracide is a very safe and effective flea control product that is used widely by professional companies such as Terminix and Orkin in homes with children and pets all the time.  You should have children and pets in another room while you are treating.  After treatment allow 30 minutes to dry and then it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the room.  Per the product label, "applicators must wear long-sleeve shirts, long pants, socks and shoes, and chemical resistant gloves." Respiratory devices are not required.

    Q
4 weeks of Ultracide and fleas are still terrible- is this normal?
I have a severe infestation of fleas in my home and have been using Ultracide to treat them for exactly 4 weeks today. I have been applying to ALL floor surfaces, washing linen daily and vacuuming all floor surfaces daily during this time. I noticed the "knock down" the day I first used it and for the first two weeks the population seemed to be steadily dropping off. I have not seen any full grown brown adults in the past 2 weeks which is reassuring but In the past several days the population seems to be rebounding and I'm very worried they are developing a tolerance to it. Last night was so bad I didn't sleep because as soon as I lay down I felt them crawling all over me in bed (while wearing long sleeve clothing and flea repellent no less) Is tolerance to Ultracide a possibilty? If so, what do I do next?
    A
You are doing exactly what you should be doing. If you are still seeing fleas, it is possible that the problem was worse than you initally though. You will need to do treatments with the Ultracide until the fleas are completely gone. You will also keep vacuuming daily for the 14 days. The fleas will not build up a tolerance to it.

    Q
How Do You Kill Flea Eggs?
Can you please explain how to kill flea eggs? Thank you.
    A
The key to killing flea eggs is using an IGR or Insect Growth Regulator. Most IGR's cause growth abnormalities in the egg and larvae stages that prevent growth. Ultracide is a very effective flea control aerosol that provides immediate kill of adult fleas and prevents formation of new adults from eggs or larvae. Ultracide is a very safe and effective flea control product that is used widely by professional companies such as Terminix and Orkin in homes with children and pets all the time.  You should only apply Ultracide to carpeted areas and upholstered areas.  Do not apply on top of couches and chairs where people rest their arms, fleas do not breed in these areas. You would want to spray around the foot of the furniture, and underneath couch cushions.  You should have children and pets in another room while you are treating.  After treatment, allow 30 minutes to dry and then it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the room. Vacuum immediately before the treatment and every other day for the next 14 days. A second treatment may be needed after 14 days for heavy infestations.

    Q
What is the best product to use for a bird mite infestation in the house and also in the car? I live in new yo
    A
It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with bird mites. Have the suspected bird mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. If you do indeed have bird mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead bird on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust.  Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

    Q
Can I spray Ultracide in my utility room where my gas hot water heater is located?
I have noticed a lot of fleas in my utility room (where vents for hot water heater and dryer are located). I purchased your Ultracide product and sprayed the entire house except for the utility room because I was unsure as to whether it was safe to do so because of the gas hot water heater. Therefore, I put borax down on that floor and have noticed quite a few fleas (dead or struggling to stay alive). I will do a second treatment of Ultracide in another week and would like to know if I can use it in my utility room. I also used the ultracide (also sprinkled borax) on the hardwood floors, without any staining, as more than 1/2 of the flooring in the house is hardwood and I was experiencing fleas jumping onto my socks and pant legs from the hardwood floors and vinyl.
    A
You can apply Ultracide to the floor surfaces in the utility room (after testing a small area). You should vacuum daily all of the floor surfaces and dispose of the bag or empty the cansiter immediately when finished. The product should NOT be applied to an area where it can contact a flame as it is extremely flammable.
