Ultracide should not have any negative affects on furniture, although if you have concerns about any fabrics it would be best to do a test application in an inconspicuous spot first. Ultracide should not be applied to electronics.
When used according to the product label, PT Ultracide - 20 oz. is safe for use in a home where a pregnant women resides. It is important that everyone (including the pregnant person) except for the applicator is out of the area during the application. Everyone is free to return to the treated area as soon as it is dry. It would not be recommended for a pregnant woman to atually apply the product as a safety precaution.
Ultracide is a great professional flea control product for indoor use. Please vacuum daily (even hard surfaces) and apply Ultracide once every two weeks to fully eliminate the fleas. Please continue using the flea control provided by your vet for your dog. It is important to treat the lawn areas especially those areas the dog will frequent. It is normal to see fleas after spraying. We do carry an Outdoor Flea/Tick that will do a great job, save money and easy to apply once every two weeks. PT Ultracide is not labeled for bed bugs. We would recommend Bedlam Aerosol Insecticide for a bed bug issue. We also would recommend you check out our Bed Bug Kits as well which include the Bedlam. It is usually necessary to treat bed bugs with more than one type of product to get a complete elimnation.
When using PT Ultracide, it is possible to shake the can too much. We would recommend letting the can settle, then shaking well right before using the product, and then applying the product without shaking it again. That should take care of the issue.
PT Ultracide - 20 oz. can stain hardwood floors. We would recommend to broadcast over rugs, carpets, cracks, crevices, and where pets spend most of their time. Be sure to vacuum daily if possible and discard of contents outdoors.
Unfortunately, PT Ultracide is not labeled for carpet moths. If you were looking for an aerosol product to use for clothes moths we would recommend the Cy-Kick Aerosol. This would give you nice residual control as well. We would also recommend that you use the ProPest Clothes Moth Trap. These traps have pheromones in them that attract the male moths which in essence stop the mating process so they can no longer reproduce.
PT Ultracide is excellent for porous flooring such as concrete, however it may stain finished flooring, such as hardwoods. Also, fleas will rarely harbor on sealed hardwood flooring. Hold container upside down 2-3 feet from surface, point actuator towards the surface and push button. Using a sweeping motion, apply a light uniform spray to all surfaces of furniture, rugs, carpets, drapes, and around all pet resting areas. Avoid thoroughly wetting surfaces. Mist treated areas only until "slightly damp". Do not over-treat. Reapply in 14 days, if necessary. IMPORTANT: Only complete and proper application to carpets, upholstery, drapes, and other fabrics will provide thorough flea/tick elimination.
Yes, thoroughly vacuum, sweep and remove all dust that is on the concrete floor before applying PT Ultracide.
We recommend that you remove the bath mats and launder (as the heat from the washer/dryer is sufficent to eliminate any fleas present). You will then vacuum the bathroom floor and then treat with PT Ultracide and leave. Allow to dry completely prior to anyone returning to the area (also proper ventilation). Please let us know if you need anything else.
If pets rest on the bath and/or kitchen mats, they can be treated with PT Ultracide or washed and dried in high heat.
The IGR in the Ultracide is supposed to last for 7 months, however the adulticide you need to respray every 14 days as this is the rough hatching cycle for any that haven't already come out from your daily vacuuming. This provides an extra knockdown of any remaining adults and newly hatched fleas.
Pyripoxyfen is the IGR in PT Ultracide and while the insect growth regulator in Ultracide will continue to work for up to 7 months, it is recommended to re-apply Ultracide after new fleas emerge. This will increase knock-down of new adults.

On average, most homeowners who do a proper treatment, vacuum daily, and treat their pet and outdoor areas where the fleas originated will be rid of the fleas indoors by the 2nd spraying. For most products, the treatment and residual control is different when you are spraying "just in case" some get in, or if you are actually dealing with an active infestation.
We would recommend you start taking steps to eradicate a flea infestation as soon as possible. We recommend vacuuming daily or every other day when treating for fleas and treating with a product like Ultracide every 14 days as needed as long as you are still finding fleas. It is possible that the residual could cause irritation if PT Ultracide is oversprayed on upholstered furniture. The label warns not to treat areas of prolonged human contact. When treating upholstered furniture, it is only to be sprayed under cushions and areas where flea development occurs. Please see label for full application instructions on page 3.
PT Ultracide is labeled to be sprayed on pet beds. Be sure that the bed is completely dry before the cat is allowed to use it again.
PT Ultracide can be used in all fabric areas of the car and in cracks and crevices, just like you would use it in the home for flea control. Floorboards, seats, cushions, and floor mats are all places you can spray the product. You need to vacuum the car thoroughly every day just like you would the home as well to help expose any dormant eggs to the product you put down. Spray Ultracide every 14 days and let dry completely before re-entering the car. If you are only feeling the fleas, and not seeing them still, you need to put down glue boards to try and get a sample of the pest in your car to make sure you are treating for the right insect. You can take a sample to your local Cooperative Extension to have it identified by the Entomologist on staff.
PT Ultracide does have residual after it dries, but one of the advantages of this specific product for fleas control is that it has fast knockdown of the adult fleas. We recommend you continue to comb and inspect the kitten to check for fleas. Wondercide Flea and Tick Pets and Home is a great product if you have young animals because it can be used in the home and also on pets, even kittens.
PT Ultracide Pressurized Flea Insecticide is not labeled for lice. Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol is labeled for lice and can be used on furniture.
