    If I only make one application a year (3 acres) with Q4 when would it be suggested to do this in Cleveland, OH?

    Application timing of Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is going to vary depending on the types of weeds you are trying to control per the product label and it may take more than one application.  It would need to be applied when the weeds are growing not before as it will only kill the weeds it makes contact with that have emerged.  We do not know the exact time of year you will start applying Q4 in Ohio. Weeds grow at different times in different regions and there is no way for us to know down to the exact week.  Please refer to the product label for complete instructions based on whether you are treating for grassy weeds or broadleaf weeds.  If you are not sure when the weeds start to actively grow in your region you can contact the master gardener at your local cooperative extension office for more information.

    I have a 25 gallon tank sprayer and just purchased a gallon of Q4. How many ounces of Q4 per gallon of water do I use?

    The application rate of Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide varies depending on what type of truf grass  you have. Cool Season Grasses: 2.6 - 3 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. (7 - 8 pints per acre) Warm Season Grasses: 1.8 - 2.6 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. (5 - 7 pints per acre) Please let us know if you have any more questions.

    How often can you reapply Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide?
    Do I have to wait 2 weeks after applying or can I reapply sooner than this?

    Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide can only be applied as broadcast twice a year with 30 days in between each application. You can spot treat if needed throughout the year staying below max labeled rates for your turf type.

    Can Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide be used to kill bermuda grass in a fescue lawn?

    No, Q4 Herbicide is not labeled for bermudagrass control in fescue lawns. However, we would recommend Fusilade II because it can be used to remove bermuda grass from tall fescue and zoysia grass when used at reduced rates. Please be sure to read over the product label for complete use instructions prior to use.

    At what time of the year is Q4 Plus most effective?
    Plan on spraying on July 31.

    Best time to apply Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide varies depending on what you are treating.  For most of the listed weeds it should be applied when they are young and actively growing for best results.  Spring and fall treatments under adequate soil moisture conditions are preferred to the summer treatments.  Please refer to the product label for complete information regarding specific weeds.

    How long should I wait between the first initial application and the follow-up application for the Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide?

    It is recommended that you wait until the second or third mowing or at least 28 days after emergence to re-apply Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide.

    Will Q4 Plus Herbicide harm flower beds?
    Or how close can a person spray if wind is right?

    You should not spray Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide on or near any desirable flowers, shrubs, or other ornamentals, and do not use clippings from turf treated with Q4 as mulch around these plants. The active ingredients can harm desirable ornamentals and some of them may volatilize, so you want to be sure you spray on a calm day and do not contact roots, leaves, or stems of desirable ornamentals. You can shield desirable plants using plastic sheeting if needed.

    Can I use Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide to treat annual bluegrass lawn to get rid of the white clover without harming the poa annua?

    Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is labeled safe for established cool season turf including poa annua, Kentucky Bluegrass, Fescues and Ryegrasses and works extremely well on various broadleaf weeds including clover.

    Can I use Q4 and apply starter fertilizer at the same time ?
    A

    Yes, you can apply both Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide and starter fertilizer at the same time. Be sure you are following the product label instructions under "Cultural Tips" for restrictions around new turf and reseeding to avoid damaging desirable turfgrass.

    Can Q4 Plus and Prodiamine be mixed together?
    Can I mix these together in one 15 Gallon tank?
    A

    Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide should be fine to mix with a pre-emergent such as Prodiamine as long as both labeled rates are followed for application.  We would recommend doing a tank mix compatibility test first to make sure there is no clumping when mixing the two products together.

    Can I apply Q4 Plus to wet grass i.e. heavy dew on the grass early morning?

    We recommend applying under dry conditions if possible, but a small amount of dew should not affect the results of Q4 Plus.

    How long before you can mow after an application of Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide?
    A

    It is recommended that you wait at least two days after applying Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide to mow. Clippings from the first three mowings should be left in the treated areas. Do not use these clippings for mulch or compost around flowers, ornamentals, trees or in vegetable gardens.

    Our dog eats grass. Is Q4 Plus safe if we let the product dry before exposing the dog?

    Yes, Q4 Plus is pet safe if used as directed on the product label.  The dog should be kept out of the area during application, but can safely return once everything has dried.

    No, Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is safe for use in bermudagrass when used as directed on the product label. It will not harm it.
