    Q
Will Ranger Pro Herbicide help kill my Oleander stumps?
    A

Ranger Pro Herbicide uses glyphosate which is talked about in this article HERE on killing Oleander trees.

If this is a big shrub, then you would want to cut it and then treat the fresh cuts using a triclopyr herbicide such as Fertilome Brush Killer and Stump Killer. You can use a dedicated paintbrush to apply the product full strength directly onto the fresh cuts to prevent regrowth.

You may still need to dig out the stump/roots eventually for best results.

    Q
Mix ratio in the Ranger Pro Herbicide label or my calculation is incorrect??
The table in section 5.2 on the label shows 2% for 1 gallon uses 2 2/3 fl oz = ~76 mL of 41% glyphosate. My calculation is as followed: 41% to 2% is 20.5 dilution (41/2 = 20.5). So a gallon of 2% glyphosate would be (1 gallon / 20.5 = 0.04878 gallon, which is around 184 ml. That's different from 76ml from the label, which is correct one to dilute??
    A

The manufacturer of Ranger Pro Herbicide and their technical team have already done the work for you on the label so there isn't a need to question the mix rates as its been vetted before coming to the market and being printed as accurate. If you feel their calculations and label are wrong, you are welcome to contact them directly at 1-800-332-3111 to discuss it further.

    Q
Will Ranger Pro Herbicide kill poison ivy?
    A

Ranger Pro Herbicide is labeled to control poison ivy. You would use a 2% solution (2 2/3 oz per gal of water) and be sure to get thorough coverage on the leaves. Another great option for vines and brush is a product containing triclopyr such as Ferti-lome Brush Killer for smaller areas or Crossbow Herbicide for larger applications.

    Q
Can Ranger Pro Herbicide be used on a bermudagrass lawn?
    A

Ranger Pro Herbicide can be safely be applied to dormant Bermuda grass only to control winter weeds and tall fescue. Applications need to be made well prior to spring green up therefore, if your bermuda has already in the beginning of spring green up transition we would advise spot treating weeds directly instead of broadcast spray applications to avoid injury.

Ranger Pro is applied at 8 to 64 fl oz in 10 to 40 gallons of water per acre or for smaller volume applications, refer to the Rate Chart on page 4 of the product label

    Q
When can I expect to see results of Ranger Pro Herbicide on quackgrass before I need to cultivate?
    A

With Ranger Pro Herbicide effects are visible on most annual weeds within 2 to 4 days, but on most perennial weeds, effects may not be visible for 7 days or more. Extremely cool or cloudy weather following treatment may slow activity of this product and delay development of visual symptoms. We would advise to wait at least 2 weeks after application before disturbing the treated soil or cultivating new seed/crops.

    Q
I mixed 1 1/2 qts to 20 gal of water on a warm day. That was 4 days ago and no results yet
Ranger pro seems useless yet claims to kill almost anything. I haven't seen results after 4 days and nothing is wilting.
    A

Ranger Pro moves through the plant from the point of foliage contact to and into the root system. Visible effects are a gradual wilting and yellowing of the plant which advances to complete browning of above-ground growth and deterioration of underground plant parts. Effects are visible on most annual weeds within 2 to 4 days, but on most perennial weeds may not occur for 7 days or more (some weeds require more than one application). Extremely cool or cloudy weather following treatment may slow activity of this product and delay development of visual symptoms. Annual weeds are easiest to control when they are small. Best control of most perennial weeds is obtained when treatment is made at late growth stages approaching maturity. See the “WEEDS CONTROLLED” sections of this label for specific weed rates. Always use the higher product application rate in the range when weed growth is heavy or dense, or when weeds are growing in an undisturbed (non-cultivated) area. Reduced weed control may result from treating weeds with disease or insect damage, weeds heavily covered with dust, or weeds under poor growing conditions.

  • Asked by Robert from Tampa
    09/05/2022
    Q
Is Ranger Pro Herbicide harmful to pets if they were to eat grass/weeds after the product has dried for 4 hours?
    A

Once the application of Ranger Pro Herbicide has completely dried, children and pets are allowed to resume normal activity in the area.

Animals are like humans and each can react differently to different chemicals. Therefore, we always recommend that if your pets consuming grass/weeds that have been treated with an herbicide, insecticide, etc is a concern, we recommend closely monitoring them and contact your Vet immediately if there are any signs of a reaction or sickness.

Per the SDS sheet, “Not expected to produce significant adverse effects when recommended use instructions are followed”.

  • Asked by Jerry from Rochester Hills, Mi
    09/26/2022
    Q
Can Ranger Pro Herbicide be used in a playground area in our subdivision?
We have a 2910 sq ft playground area in our subdivision. We have mulch and want to add 5 more inches of mulch. We want to spray weed killer between the old and new layers of mulch. Can we do this safely in the children's play area?
    A

Ranger Pro Herbicide can be used to kill actively growing weeds in mulch beds for playgrounds when applied per the product label instructions. Keep children and pets out of the area until the application has completely dried. Keep in mind, this product will only kill weeds that are actively growing and does not prevent weeds from germinating.

Applying a pre emergent such as Rezilon Pre Emergent Herbicide in late fall and then again in early spring would be effective to help prevent weeds from germinating and reducing overall weed growth. View the full product label for more information.
