Recommendation for application?

Broadcast application is stated as 0.4 oz/ 1000 sf. Around structures, the application rate is stated as 0.3 oz/ 100 linear feet (a tablespoon). Seems like a small amount to be able to accurately distribute. Are there any recommended methods to apply?
