    Remedy residual in soil
    Am I understanding correctly that Remedy travels through brushed on stems/roots into surrounding soil?
    A

    The active ingredient in Remedy Ultra Herbicide, Triclopyr, will travel through the plant, however, it is not known to leach into soil. There is a slight possibility as it does not bind extremely tight to soil, but for most, it is not an issue.

    Will Remedy Ultra Herbicide kill trees?
    A

    Over spray, or spray drift of Remedy Ultra Herbicide can harm desired plants. While a light over spray won't be enough to kill a fully matured tree, it can certainly kill the leaves it has contacted.  The tree should recover in time.

    How far from a well head is it safe to spray Remedy Ultra?
    The well is for water for cattle and horses--not human consumption.

    Usually so long as you are not applying Remedy Ultra Herbicide over the well and keeping applications at least 15 feet away from the well, a herbicide can be used. You may want contact the manufacturer directly for further details. DOW can be reached at at 800.992.5994 .

    How much Remedy to mix with diesel to kill pear trees? Do I spray only leaves?
    Mix to be used with a backpack sprayer on leaves.

    The rates for Remedy Ultra Herbicide will vary depending on where and how you are treating.  Please refer to the product label for complete instructions for your specific application. For spot treatment, you will  use a 1 to 1.5% solution of Remedy Ultra in water (1 to 1 1/2 gallons of Remedy Ultra in 100 gallons total spray mixture, or 0.78 to 1.92 fl oz per gallon) and spray the entire plant to completely wet the foliage.

    Does stump need to be removed even after using Remedy
    Great website. I just read one of your responses. Question was raised regarding 6 inch stump. You indicated how you could treat one stump with Remedy but also indicated that the stump and roots would still have to be removed. Is this correct? If so, why use Remedy.
    A
    Remedy Ultra Herbicide will kill it, so it can no longer sprout. However, the dead wood would still remain and would need to be removed as it can take a while to decay. Remedy may be an option if you want to kill the stump, but are unable to remove it right now (laborious, large project, cost etc). Reasons, why you may need to quickly kill the stump, may be its producing unwanted sprouts, the root system is under concrete and ripping it, etc.

    With remedy ultra kill bamboo
    A
    Remedy Ultra Herbicide is not labeled to control bamboo, although many people will use products containing triclopyr in conjunction with bamboo labeled herbices to try and gain better control. You can use Round Up QuickPro at the highest listed usage rate to help eliminate bamboo. No matter what product you use when trying to control bamboo you need to cut the plant down level with the ground and then use the designated product at the highest rate or undiluted to paint/pour directly on the freshly cut surface. Bamboo roots run very deep so often you have to do multiple applications with a product and repeat the cutting and painting phase a few times to fully kill the plant.

    Remedy Ultra Herbicide states to use 2-4 pints per acre for susceptible woody plants, which would reduce down to .73-1.47 oz per 1k square feet. It does not state how much water to use, so you will need to calibrate your sprayer. Below is a link on how to calibrate how your sprayer & determine how much water to use.

    Can Remedy Ultra Herbicide be applied in the fall when trees have lost their leaves for the season?
    A

    The best time to apply Remedy Ultra Herbicide is when the plants are actively growing and temps are above 55 degrees however Ester formulations such as Remedy Ultra Herbicide are known to still be effective in cooler temperatures. We do not recommend spraying when temperatures are below 45 degrees.

    Per the product label, it is recommended to wait 3 weeks after the application of Remedy Ultra Herbicide to seed or plant in the treated area.

    Can cows with calves graze the pasture after spraying with Remedy Ultra Herbicide?

    There are no grazing restrictions with Remedy Ultra Herbicide except for lactating animals. Per the product label, lactating animals should be kept form grazing in the treated areas for the growing season.

    Otherwise, animals can return to treated areas once dry.

    Is Remedy and Remedy Ultra basically the same?

    Remedy is for use on rangelands and permanent grass pastures (including fencerows and non-irrigation ditch banks within these areas). Remedy Ultra Herbicide is for Commercial areas, Range-land, Grass Pastures, Conservation Reserve Program Acres, including fence rows and non-irrigation ditch banks

    After stem spraying small mesquite, how long do I leave it before removal to get root kill?
    Multi stem mesquite less than four feet tall

    Per the manufacturer, you would want to leave it for at least a year, or as long as possible, to allow Remedy Ultra Herbicide to get as far down to the root system as possible. The manufacturer also advised the best application time is in early spring, so you may not see the best results. They also recommended to tank mix it with Sendero Herbicide.     What is the rate of Remedy Ultra Herbicide for smaller volumes of spray to treat buckthorn?
    I am a small, older woman and plan to cut the smaller buckthorn plants to the ground, then spray with Remedy Ultra. For the larger buckthorn trees someone will help me cut them to the ground. Can I spray the stumps in the same way? My Remedy Ultra supply is more than three years old. Is it still effective, perhaps with less diluting?

    The mixing ratio of Remedy Ultra Herbicide is 1.28 - 1.92 fl. oz. per gallon of water for spot treatments. For smaller volume treatments, a 1 gallon hand pump sprayer needs to be used, this should not be applied using a hand held trigger spray bottle. 
     
    For stump treatments, you would use 25 fl oz to 38.4 fl oz per gallon of water, being sure to get the outer layers and cambium of the stump. You will still need to remove the stumps and root systems physically after using herbicides to stop regrowth. 

    Remedy Ultra Herbicide has a shelf life of 3 to 5 years if stored out of extreme temperatures (heat/freezing) and out of direct sunlight.

    Will Remedy Ultra Herbicide kill live oaks if treating a huisache shrub that is under the live oak?

    Over spray, or spray drift of Remedy Ultra Herbicide can harm desired plants. While a light over spray won't be enough to kill a fully matured tree, it can certainly kill the leaves it has contacted. You may want to consider applying as a cut stump treatment directly to the freshly cut trunk of the shrub to prevent any overspray or drift onto exposed roots or limbs of the live oak.
