Over spray, or spray drift of Remedy Ultra Herbicide can harm desired plants. While a light over spray won't be enough to kill a fully matured tree, it can certainly kill the leaves it has contacted. The tree should recover in time.

The rates for Remedy Ultra Herbicide will vary depending on where and how you are treating. Please refer to the product label for complete instructions for your specific application. For spot treatment, you will use a 1 to 1.5% solution of Remedy Ultra in water (1 to 1 1/2 gallons of Remedy Ultra in 100 gallons total spray mixture, or 0.78 to 1.92 fl oz per gallon) and spray the entire plant to completely wet the foliage.
Remedy Ultra Herbicide is not labeled to kill privet.
The best time to apply Remedy Ultra Herbicide is when the plants are actively growing and temps are above 55 degrees however Ester formulations such as Remedy Ultra Herbicide are known to still be effective in cooler temperatures. We do not recommend spraying when temperatures are below 45 degrees.
Per the product label, it is recommended to wait 3 weeks after the application of Remedy Ultra Herbicide to seed or plant in the treated area.
There are no grazing restrictions with Remedy Ultra Herbicide except for lactating animals. Per the product label, lactating animals should be kept form grazing in the treated areas for the growing season.
Otherwise, animals can return to treated areas once dry.
Remedy is for use on rangelands and permanent grass pastures (including fencerows and non-irrigation ditch banks within these areas). Remedy Ultra Herbicide is for Commercial areas, Range-land, Grass Pastures, Conservation Reserve Program Acres, including fence rows and non-irrigation ditch banks

For stump treatments, you would use 25 fl oz to 38.4 fl oz per gallon of water, being sure to get the outer layers and cambium of the stump. You will still need to remove the stumps and root systems physically after using herbicides to stop regrowth.

You may want to consider applying as a cut stump treatment directly to the freshly cut trunk of the shrub to prevent any overspray or drift onto exposed roots or limbs of the live oak.
