Basal bark application
By T. on 06/11/2020
Having several acres of field that has been neglected for decades, the birds have kindly seeded it with nuisance Autumn Olives in several areas. As some have crept in between desirable trees, I did not want to try a foliar kill that might directly impact the nicer treesvia drift. Having seen a video on basal bark treatments, I thought I'd give it a try as it is precise and cost efficient - a definite requirement for this $100/gal. formulation. Mixed at 1:3 with diesel, careful application at the bottom 1.5' of the trunks yielded positive and observable results with shriveling & dropping leaves within only 5 days or so. I will be monitoring for any soil migration of the herbicide on neighboring vegetation over the next season as this stuff is potent!

A little slow but does work
By Mameshiba on 05/01/2020
Within 2 days wild garlic collapsed. Within 4 days dandelions and oxalis started to go. Within 5 days Canadian thistle was struggling. I had very little drift with it though my backpack sprayer's nozzle broke so I could only apply it with a cone-shaped brass nozzle with a fine mist setting at the time. You might have faster results with a regular fan nozzle. Still Ultra works better than the junk I had before.

I have a 4-gallon backpack sprayer. I prefer to mix with water rather than oil. How do I clean my sprayer to protect the pump and nozzle and hoses?
The rates for Remedy Ultra Herbicide will vary depending on where and how you are treating. Please refer to the product label for complete instructions for your specific application. For spot treatment, you will use a 1 to 1.5% solution of Remedy Ultra in water (1 to 1 1/2 gallons of Remedy Ultra in 100 gallons total spray mixture, or 0.78 to 1.92 fl oz per gallon) and spray the entire plant to completely wet the foliage.
The best way to clean your sprayer is to triple rinse it between uses. Triple rinse means to rinse out the inside of the sprayer 3 times, and also fill it with water and run clean water through the hose for at least 1 minute to make sure that there is no residual left in the hose in addition to the tank.
