We do not recommend treating when the children or toys are present. They can return when the area is completely dry. We suggest covering or moving the toys out of the treatment area during the application of Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV.

Most misting/fogging concentrates on the market like Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV are contact kill insecticides and will not leave behind a residual to give a continuous kill. Fogging is mostly designed for the instant control and knock down of pests in the area and to kind of keep them away for a few hours. For continuous control you normally use products that are not applied with a fogger and that have a residual to give you control over several weeks as the mosquitoes land on the treated surfaces. No, Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV will not harm hummingbirds or any other animals if used as directed. Be sure not to apply the product in the areas where they are. Once the product has dried completely, it is safe for animals and birds to be in the area.
Riptide is our most popular product for misting systems. However, according to the Spider Be Gone website, you will void any warranty if anyone other than the dealer that installed the system refills it.

Per the product label it states the following: If used in a direct injection system, the pesticide container must be locked. Riptide does not have a residual effect after it is dry. It also is applied using a misting system. Riptide is labeled to kill ticks, as well as various other flying insects. It is a contact kill only.
An option that is longer lasting is the Tick Control Kit. It contains Cyzmic CS and Archer IGR. An IGR is an insect growth regulator. This will stop the ticks from reproducing. The mixing ratio is Archer IGR: 1 fl. oz. Cyzmic CS: .4oz into one gallon of water. Treatments can be done every 14 days until the ticks are eradicated. After that, for regular treatments, spraying every 30 days is enough.
Riptide is a water-based product and would not work in a propane or thermal fogger. You will need an oil based product to use in the propane fogger such as Shockwave or ULD BP-300. While you can spray cedar oil and Riptide in the same place for insect control, we do not recommend mixing the products together. Riptide is water based and will not mix with the cedar oil. This could cause the products to be unstable and may also damage your sprayer.
Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV will kill wasps that come in contact with the product while it is wet. Keep in mind this product only provides a contact kill. Once it is dry it leaves very little residual behind.

That will depend entirely on how you use it. Riptide can be sprayed in a misting sytem where you would mix 1 64 oz. jug to a 55 gallon tank, which on average will last for 30 days. It can also be used in a hand pump sprayer alone or tank mixed with another residual insecticide to provide knock down; or you can use it in a hand held fogger. The size of your yard, how you dilute the product, and how heavily you apply will affect how quickly you go through it. There are many variables, but you can see use rates and application information on the product label.
Yes, Riptide can be used in a B&G PAS System according to the label. We would recommend waiting to put the product inside of your system until you are going to use it. Pesticides should not be stored in a tank for more than 24 hours.
Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV is not labeled to be used on edible vegetation such as lettuce or squash. We would recommend using PyGanic Crop Protection EC 5.0 II instead.
