    Q
We own rental properties and two of them (next door to each other) always have a roach problem. One is severe
and luckily empty at the moment. What do you suggest for treatment and should we alternate products on a second treatment?
    A

We have a roach control kit #2 that is made just for homes and business with bad roach problems.  It has the best roach control products available in the pest control industry and is usually what a professional company would use if you called them.  It has a spray for underneath appliances and under items in the kitchen down low, it has a roach bait gel for use in cabinets, drawers, and cracks and crevices up high, and it comes with an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) which helps prevent the adults from reproducing younger roaches.  Remember that a roach problem does not get bad over night and it will not go away over night or after one treatment.  Roach control is a process and if the problem is really bad it can take months to control.

Sanitation is also very important.  If the kitchen is not kept spotless every night and all food put up and away, it does not matter how much you spray or what products you use, the problem will not go away unless cleanliness is a part of your roach management program.

    Q
If I buy the Roach Control Kit# 2 and my pet eats a dead roach that ingested the product could he die?
    A
When using the products in the Roach Control Kit#2, as long as you follow the instructions for applying the products then your pets will be safe. The residual and poisons in the products are only enough to kill something the size of a roach. A pet would need to eat large amounts of the bait directly to have an effect from the bait.

    Q
What is the best product you have for getting rid of cockroaches?
What is the best product for getting rid of cockroaches? I've been told I should get gel, but you've got a tonne of it on your site, so I don't know which one to get. The other thing is, that I have dogs, although I know the places where the roaches are and the dogs cannot get into said places.
    A
If you have a current infestation of roaches, we recommend the products that come in our Roach Control Kit #2. The products in the Roach Control Kit #2 are perfect for roach control problems in apartments. This professional kit includes Demon WP Insecticide for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc.  Invict Gold Roach Bait Gel--one of the best roach baits on the market. Invict Gold can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, Gentrol Point Source stations provide an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) that will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals.

    A
We recommend that you apply the products in our Roach Control Kit #2 to the inside and outside of your home. It would be great if you can treat under the skirting to offer a better barrier.

How long do I leave the Gel before cleaning it up?
After the Gel is applied in kitchen and bath etc. how long do I have to leave it in place before cleaning it up ? I really don't want pea-size blobs of bait throughout the house indefinately
    A
When using the bait gel from Roach Control Kit #2, you want to reapply the bait once a week. You can clean the old gel up using hot water and soap. If there is a lot of resistance a little cooking oil will do the trick to get the bait up.

    Talstar vs Cyper
Which one would you recommend for kill bad infestation of roaches we don't have them but my INLAWS do and they want them gone from their house and I want them gone from their house too thanks for your help.
    A
Both Talstar P and Cyper WP would do a great job for roach control. Talstar P will dry clear while Cyper WP can leave a white powdery residue behind. Cyper WP on the other hand does have a little bit of a faster knockdown.  For roaches we would actually recommend a combination of products such as found in our Roach Control Kit #2.  It comes with the Demon WP which is the same product as Cyper WP, as well as a bait and IGR (insect growth regulator).  This combination is more effective in eliminating an entire infestation of roaches versus just want would contact an area treated with a spray.

I have a roach problem in my apartment, what would you suggest for my roach problem?
    A
Our most popular product for roaches is our Roach Control kit #2.  It comes with everything you need to take care of a roach infestation, and it has a very high success rate because it comes with the same professional products that a professional company would use if you hired them. Of course the treatment works best if you are doing your part to keep your apartment very clean, leave no crumbs or dishes in the sink at night, take out trash every night, and make sure all counter tops are wiped down thoroughly.

    Q
Do sewer bugs cause health issues in humans?
    A
There are many different types of "sewer bugs" and many of them can cause health issues. Roaches and flies can carry bacteria or other diseases that they can spread by crawling over or defecating on surfaces. Roaches and other insects can cause health issues because their shed skins can crumble and become air born and cause allergic reactions.

    Q
In what order should I use the products from the Roach Control Kit #2 for them to be the most effective?
I've read that if you use the Insecticide first the roaches will not want the gel bait if it is in the same room. Also I've read that some people have mixed the IGR in with the Insecticide. Is that safe and still effective and can it be done?
    A

You can use roach bait in conjunction with roach spray. However, it is very important to keep the bait and spray separate. This can be done 1 of 2 ways. Either spray down low along baseboards and bait up high in the rooms or you can just use the bait in the kitchen and the bathrooms and then spray in the other rooms of the house. The latter is my personal preference. To answer your question about mixing the IGR concentrate with the insecticide, that can be done and is very effective. However, the Roach Control Kit #2 does not come with the IGR Concentrate, it comes the the Gentrol Point Source disk which emits a safe, odorless vapor into the rooms so that the roaches do not have to come in firsthand contact with the IGR which is also very effective. Different methods, but the same results. Below you will find the step-by-step treatment guide for the Roach Control Kit #2. I hope this helps!

    Step 1:

Thoroughly clean the area to be treated. Please take a moment to read over our How to Get Rid of Roaches article to learn hints and tips to make roach control efforts more successful.

    Step 2:

Use 1 packet out of the large envelope of Demon WP and mix with one gallon of water in a one gallon pump sprayer. You want to spray the the outside perimeter of the home 2-3 feet up and out and inside along the baseboards, window frames, and door frames in the living room, family room, bedrooms, and dining room.

*Be sure not to spray where you are planning on using the Invict Gold. Keep the bait and the spray completely separate.

     Step 3:

Invict Gold Roach Bait Gel should be applied to areas frequented by cockroaches such as kitchens and bathrooms. Baits can be placed between different elements of construction, between equipment and floors, openings leading into voids and hollow spaces in floors, walls, ceilings, equipment legs and bases, around plumbing pipes, doors and windows, and behind and under appliances, cabinets, sinks, closets, and any other equipment that cockroaches are typically known to hide.

     Step 4:

Activating Gentrol Point Source is as simple as squeezing the raised end of the plastic, adhesive-back device. This releases Gentrol IGR onto a filter paper. From there, it moves up to 75 square feet. That way the pest never needs to come in contact with the device. You can stick one disc on the wall beside the fridge, for example. One to two weeks after application, you will begin to see roaches with crinkled wings, showing the initial effects of the IGR. These roaches cannot reproduce.

Maxforce Bait Stations and Drione Dust will both kill roaches. However, whenever a customer is battling a roach infestation we would recommend our Roach Control Kit #2. This professional kit includes 1 packet of Demon WP Insecticide (which makes 4 gallons of finished solution) for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get 4 x 35 gram tubes of Invict Gold Roach Bait Gel--one of the best roach baits on the market. Invict Gold can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, 20 Gentrol Point Source stations provide an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) that will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals.

    Q
What should I do to get rid of roaches from inside a wall that is adjacent with my townhouse neighbors?
Being in a town home seems to make it difficult to get rid of roaches. I have tried boric acid with a lure and gel baits. I have sealed up with cocking as much as I can. The back wall of our home (which is a kitchen wall) is the same wall that connects with my neighbors. I first saw roaches behind my oven. (Even in the LED digital clock). Then I would see them mostly near the dishwasher. I even have seen a "white" one. It has been a few months since then, but I read that means that there is a heavy infestation. After seeing that "white" one, I used the gel baits and baited all the places that are recommended by professionals. I didn't see very many after that, but lately they have been showing up more. We live in a three level town home and so far I only see them on the main level (where the kitchen is) and a few in the basement. I am almost positive the "nest" is some where in the walls where I can't reach. We currently rent, so cutting a hole in the wall probably wouldn't work. I am almost that desperate though! Hope you can help me out!! I would appreciate any advice you can give me! Thanks!!
    A

We recommend that you treat with the products in our Roach Control Kit. You could also apply an insecticide dust inside the wall void, light switch plates and electrical outlets. If the roaches are in your large appliances, baiting is going to help. You do want to switch up the bait if they are no longer accepting the ones you have used previously. I have included some articles that you will find helpful when treating for roaches. Please let us know if you need anything else.

    Q
What products do you recommend to keep roaches out of my house?
My neighbors have a real bad roach problem. They have already made their way into my house, but it's not bad yet. I know it can get bad quick.
    A
If you have a lot of mulch near your house, you may want to consider raking it back at least six inches away from the house. Also, trimming bushes so that you can see the soil beneath them and so they do not touch the house will help reduce soil moisture and stop the insects from gaining access to the house via the bushes.  We recommend using Demon WP for roach control. Demon WP is a wettable powder that is diluted in water, and then sprayed around door frames, window frames, in areas where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into a structure, around the bottom of the foundation and other area where insects are known to harbor. Inside along baseboards, in cracks and crevices, and other potential millipede harborages. We recommend purchasing our Roach Kit #2. This kit also contains contains roach bait gel and insect growth regulator to get rid of the roaches that have already made their way indoors as well as the Demon WP you need to use outdoors.

    Q
Best course of action for cockroach infestation
    A

Our number one recommendation for roach infestastions is to use the Roach Control Kit 2.

Roach Control Kit #2 contains three products with different active ingredients and modes of action to control even the toughest roach infestations.

Invict Gold Roach Bait Gel contains 11 attractants and the powerful active ingredient Imidacloprid. The slow-acting Imidacloprid give roaches who have consumed the bait time to transfer the bait to other roaches through contact and food-sharing, eliminating roaches far beyond the actual bait placements. Roach bait is applied in cracks and crevices in sensitive areas such as cabinets, drawers, and near countertops.

Demon WP is a residual insecticide that is diluted with water and applied with a pump sprayer. The active ingredient Cypermethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that delivers a powerful punch for killing roaches that cross its path.

Gentrol Point Source Stations contain the Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) Hydroprene, which halts population growth by keeping younger stages of roaches from developing into breeding adults. The Gentrol Stations slowly release active ingredient into the surrounding area, meaning roaches do not have to contact the station itself for it to be effective.

    Q
What is a good chemical when treating for roaches?
    A
When treating for roaches, baiting and sanitation are key. We recommend using 3 products together to get rid of roaches. A roach bait gel, an IGR (insect growth regulator), and a residual insecticide. We offer all three products in the Roach Control Kit 2. This professional kit includes 1 packet of Demon WP Insecticide (which makes 4 gallons of finished solution) for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get 4 x 30 gram tubes of Advion Roach Bait Gel--one of the best roach baits on the market. Advion can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other hidden roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, 20 Gentrol Point Source stations provide an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) that will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals. Demon WP must be applied with a 1 gallon pump sprayer. It is very important that you do your part by making sure your home is impeccably clean while trying to get rid of a roach infestation. Poor sanitation will lead to roach control failure.

After the Demon WP is dry, is it toxic to pets or children who may lick surfaces where it has been applied?

Demon WP is safe once it is dry for pets and children. We do not recommend spraying while either are in the room. It can leave a white, powdery residue around the baseboards and cracks and crevices.

Will Roach Control Kit 2 help a German roach infestation in a mobile home with them in the walls?
    A
Yes, Roach Control Kit 2 will do a good job in a mobile home. The best way to handle a roach infestation, no matter how small or large, will take both chemical and non chemical steps.  The Roach Kit 2 has a powder insecticide that you mix with water and spray around the baseboards, cracks and crevices, behind appliances like refrigerators and stoves, and around door frames. It also comes with a roach bait gel to place in cabinets and other areas where baiting will be more effective, and an IGR (birth control) in little plastic stations that you place throughout the problem areas to keep the roaches from reproducing.  Please take a moment to look over our How To Get Rid of Roaches article and watch the video HERE for how to properly place the bait in the cabinets

It can take several months to get rid of a large infestation. Infestations do not get large quickly and unfortunately they do not go away quickly either.  Below you will find our best recommendations for eliminating roaches:

How do I eliminate all the water sources when I have 2 large fish tanks?
I recently purchased a house and discovered that I purchased a roach problem as well. I have 2 very large fresh water tanks stocked with valuable Discus fish. These are a sensitive species. The roaches are drawn to the tanks. How would you recommend handling this situation for successful elimination of the roaches?
    A
In an ideal situation you would remove all of the water sources. In reality, roaches will almost always be able to find a water source whether it is a toilet or a drip pan under the fridge, it is there. The idea is to eliminate as many as possible. Would it be possible to cover the tops with plastic wrap at night or add a plexiglass cover to limit access by the roaches?
