    Q
Will Rodeo kill American Pondweed if sprayed on the floating leaf of the submerged plant?
I have about a 1 3/4 acre pond with American Pondweed growing around the perimeter up to 15 feet from the bank at a depth of no more than 4 feet.
    A

Rodeo Herbicide is not labeled for American pondweed so we cannot confirm if it will kill it. Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide would be a good option to use (.75 fl oz per gallon) and should be used with a surfactant, such as the Non-Ionic Surfactant. The ratio for that product is 1-2 teaspoons per gallon of water.

    Q
Is it too late to put Rodeo Herbicide on our pond weeds? 9/7/14
    A
Rodeo Herbicide can still be applied as long as the weeds are actively growing. Be sure to make your application in sections as to not suffocate any aquatic organisms.

  • Asked by Paul from Schoolcraft, Mi
    05/10/2018
    Q
    Will Rodeo kill bamboo?
    A

Bamboo is very difficult to kill since its roots grow so deep.  A glyphosate product like Rodeo will need to be applied at the highest labeled rate directly to the fresh cut stump of the bamboo after you cut it down level to the ground.  You could also use a brush and stump killer applied undiluted directly on the fresh stump.

    Q
Can Rodeo Herbicide be used in flower beds to control weeds and grasses without killing the flowers?
If this can not be used in flower beds what do you recommend? I have weeds and grasses in my flower beds.
    A
Rodeo Herbicide can be applied as a spot treatment around the non edible vegetation. Fertilome Ovet the Top is one of the most popular to treat grassy weeds in flower beds.

  • Asked by Rick from Hudsonville Mi
    09/10/2013
    Q
I want to kill existing weeds on a hillside next to a lake and plant english ivy. Will Rodeo hurt ivy?
Can I over spray after ivy planted if needed, will it hurt tree roots
    A
Rodeo contains glyphosate which is a non-selective herbicide. Non-selective herbicides will kill just about any vegetation that they are sprayed on.  If the tree is established, then the Rodeo should have no effect on the tree roots. You should try to limit the exposure to the tree and only directly treat the vegetation you are trying to get rid of.

  • Asked by Kevin from Apopka, Fl
    05/14/2019
    Q
How long does it take a plant to absorb Rodeo?
    A

With Rodeo Herbicide it starts to be absorbed immediately as long as the weed is actively growing and healthy, and not stressed by heat, cold or drought conditions.  Visible effects on most annual weeds occur within two to four days, but on most perennial weeds visible effects may not occur for seven days or more, with complete kill taking up to 2 weeks and may take multiple applications depending on the type of weed.

  • Asked by Leo from Dubuque, Ia
    05/31/2018
    Q
Why is Rodeo recommended for "wet" areas or in my case a flood (infrequent) plain, rather than Roundup to treat reed canary grass?
    A

Rodeo Herbicide is more of an aquatic herbicide, so it is safe for use around or in water.  Most RoundUp products state not to apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark.

  • Asked by E from Annapolis, Md
    10/21/2019
    Q
Should I add dish soap to help the Rodeo Herbicide adhere?
    A

We have heard that some people use dish soap as a surfactant, however, we cannot recommend it because there is not enough research behind it. We recommend using a product like the Non Ionic Surfactant with Rodeo Herbicide.
