Spreaders like the Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader do disperse product per 1000 sqft but the settings are not the exact number for lbs per 1000 you use. It depends on the product that you are using, if a Scotts products they list their settings on their product bags specific …

Due to the thousands of granules on the market and just as many different types of spreaders, you will want to calibrate your spreader to the product you are using and its application rates if yours is not listed. You can see a short video on how to accomplish this below. -

According to the product information sheet for the Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader the only assembly required is to raise the top half of the handle to the upright position and tighten the wing nuts by hand.
