    Q
My Llasa wears a Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar however we still found a tick on her right next to the collar itself. Why
    A

If you are walking your dog through areas that have not been treated for fleas and/or ticks, then these pests will still get on your pet and bite. When bitten, the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar will kill fleas and ticks.

    Q
How long does the chemicals from the Seresto collar stay in my dog's system, after taking it off?
My Great Dane has epilepsy and is very touchy when it comes to flea and tick prevention. I took it off, because he had been seizure free until he started wearing the collar. I want to know how long the product stays in his system.
    A
The Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar is only releasing the active when it is on the dog.  Once removed this stops and should be gone within a few days though you can bath your dog with warm water and soap to remove quicker.

If your dog is experiencing an adverse event, contact your vet and call 1-800-422-9874

    Q
My dog has a Seresto collar which expires in June. I found and removed a tick today, getting the whole body snd head out. It appeared dead, but why was it still firmly attached if it was dead? Shouldn't fall off once it dies?
    A

We would recommend contacting your Vet directly or the manufacturer Bayer for more information. This could be due to the bedding behavior of the tick or the mode of action time frame of the active ingredient. Bayer can be reached at this link HERE.

    Q
I just shaved my dog, can I put the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar on his bare neck?
    A

Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar can be placed on his bare neck. The collar actually needs to touch the skin to work. If your dog has sensitive skin you may want to give it a few days after shaving before putting on collar.

    Q
How long should I wait after removing the Seresto collar before applying a different flea/tick treatment?

    Q
Why are their still fleas on my dog after 2 days with Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar on?
    It is not effective?
    A

Even though the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar continues to work for 8 months, it is not a complete repellent during that time. Fleas and ticks will still need to bite to consume the active ingredient, so it can take several hours for them to die. Be sure that you are still checking outdoors and treating as needed so that the dog is not bringing fleas and ticks indoors. Please take a moment to review our Flea Treatment Guide for more tips and information on eradicating this pest.

    Q
Why does my dog have fleas after using the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar for three months?
For the past 3 weeks he has been covered in fleas. I have to bath him in dawn every day but he still has fleas.

You can also use an additional repellent on the animal if needed for long walks outdoors or in areas that you cannot treat. We have more tips in our Flea Treatment Guide as well. Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar will help ward off fleas and ticks, but it may not keep a flea from hitch hiking onto the pet in an area that may not have been treated. Be sure you are also treating the areas the pet frequents.

  • Asked by Adrienne from Durham, Nc

    Q
My little long haired Chihuahua still has fleas after using Seresto, it's been 72 hours
Should I bomb my house and rewash her and put on another collar? She's so low to the ground maybe 5 pounds
    A

The Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar will last 8 months. While the collar is designed to kill any fleas or ticks that get on and feed on the pet, it will not put a bubble on the pet and keep any insect from being able to still jump on. If the pet is itching, are you seeing signs of live fleas on the pet? Itching can be caused by many factors so if you are not seeing any fleas on the dog, the collar should still be working. You may need to treat in your home for fleas as well. You may use something like our Indoor Flea and Tick Kit to do so. Please take a moment to review our How to Get Rid of Fleas Guide for more information and helpful tips on eradicating this pest.
