    Q
Can I take the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar off my dogs when they are in the house? They like to play around and bite each other.
    A

Typically, to get the best protection, you would not remove the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar as long as you suspect the dogs are exposed to fleas and ticks.  The collars are pretty durable and can hold up to activity during normal play.  You can remove the collar if you feel the need to.  Just be sure it is placed right back on before going outside.

    Q
My dog is itching after only 5 months. Should I replace the Seresto Dog Collar?
    A

The Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar will last 8 months. While the collar is designed to kill any fleas or ticks that get on and feed on the pet, it will not put a bubble on the pet and keep any insect from being able to still jump on. If the pet is itching, are you seeing signs of live fleas on the pet? Itching can be caused by many factors so if you are not seeing any fleas on the dog,the collar should still be working.

  • Asked by Sarah from Middlesboro, Ky
    08/25/2019
    Q
Why does my dog have fleas on him after wearing a Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar for several months?
My dog has wore the collar almost 4 months now, I have never had a problem with it until now I have started Noticing several fleas on him and I don't know what's wrong
    A

Even though the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar continues to work for 8 months, it is not a complete repellent during that time. Fleas and ticks will still need to bite to consume the active ingredient, so it can take several hours for them to die. Be sure that you are still checking outdoors and treating as needed so that the dog is not bringing fleas and ticks indoors. You can also use an additional repellent on the animal if needed for long walks outdoors or in areas that you cannot treat. We have more tips in our Flea Treatment Guide here as well.
