Sertay efficacy on late season spray on yellow nut-sedge
By Phillip on 09/15/2023
I sprayed well established yellow nut-sedge in early September. Temperatures had been 90 - 105 degrees. I followed the directions for hand sprayers. I did not add a Surfactant. I got minimal efficacy after 2 weeks. I will respray in early Spring as that is the recommend time. Some of the early growth nut-sedge 2 or 3 leaf 8 inches tall was well killed out.

Not worth the money
By Hank on 06/13/2025
I mixed and sprayed one bottle, which is enough to cover one acre, on my 1/2 acre central Oklahoma back yard. While it did kill most weeds that cheap 2,4-D would kill, many survived after 3 weeks including POA. Although I applied Sertay a week before rain, we have had a lot of rain since application. Maybe that caused it to less than effective than anticipated. I will not buy Sertay (Sulfosulfuron) again.

Knocked out a pretty good stand of Nutsedge in Zoysia
By Mark on 06/06/2025
This was used in late May in a central Texas Zoysia lawn, fairly warm temps already, and aggressively used with Sulfentrazone and Basagran TO. Probably more aggressive treatment than I should have considering the already warm temps. I used it as a broadcast treatment on the whole yard. Definitely burnt the tips of the zoysia but it came out with generous watering after about 2 weeks. Went from thousands of Nutsedge plants to literally nothing. Planning on a repeat treatment with just the Sertay in another few weeks to knock anything else out hiding in the soil. The reason I hit it so hard was that in years last if I wait for the super hot summer conditions, these chemicals are just too hard on the grass, so I went aggressive earlier, and should have been even even earlier. Broadcast application is expensive, but otherwise you miss spots and the problems continue. I used AI to research the 3 way application, it thought it was too aggressive, but the zoysia was fine.
