Sertay Herbicide is a professional herbicide tailored for post-emergent control of yellow nutsedge, purple nutsedge, kyllinga, Annual Bluegrass (Poa annua) and various other broadleaf weeds. It can be used on highly managed turfs and native grasses, established landscapes, and more. Sertay can be used in both residential and commercial settings. Once applied, this selective weed killer is absorbed by the roots of the weed, preventing any further growth.
Sertay sulfosulfuron herbicide is specially formulated for warm-season southern lawns. Containing the active ingredient sulfosulfuron, it can control cool-season grass species such as Poa annua, tall fescue, and perennial ryegrass. It’s safe to use on warm season turfs including Bermudagrass, Centipedegrass, St. Augustinegrass, and Zoysiagrass. In addition to use in the lawn, Sertay can be used in landscaping around woody perennials, ornamentals, perennial groundcovers, and warm-season ornamental grasses.
Dallisgrass: Please note that Sertay is labeled for suppression of dallisgrass only and can only be used for dallisgrass when tank mixed with another herbicide such as MSMA or Revolver (which are not for residential use).

Sertay efficacy on late season spray on yellow nut-sedge
By Phillip on 09/15/2023
I sprayed well established yellow nut-sedge in early September. Temperatures had been 90 - 105 degrees. I followed the directions for hand sprayers. I did not add a Surfactant. I got minimal efficacy after 2 weeks. I will respray in early Spring as that is the recommend time. Some of the early growth nut-sedge 2 or 3 leaf 8 inches tall was well killed out.

Label states that you should mix product with 2 gallons of water per 1000 sqft. Does this mean that if you mix the same amount of product in, say 4 gallons in the same area it will not be as effective or not work at all?
Correct, per the product label for Sertay Herbicide you should use 2 gallons of water per 1000 sqft. Using more water than recommended can lead to undesirable results as it would be too diluted.

I want to treat Annual Bluegrass in a large Bermuda grass front yard.
Sertay Herbicide (Generic Certainty - Sulfosulfuron 75%) like most other herbicides should not be applied in hose end applicatiors. This type of sprayer sometimes is not very accurate, so you can wind up dispensing more or less product than needed in a given area, which can lead to less than desirable results.
