    Q
Being it's warm outside the Sevin dries immediately. Is it still being effective?
    A
Sevin Concentrate should be used while temperates are between 40 degrees and 85 degrees Fahrenheit for it be effective and safe. Even though it is drying quickly, it is still working on the plants if it is being applied within that temperature range. Also, Sevin needs to be applied at least 24 hours before an expected rain. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Q
Can I use Sevin Concentrate in a garden hose end sprayer?
I have tried 2 different garden hose sprayers with liquid Sevin. It is a thick, milky-white, liquid & it Sprays for a few seconds then seems to quit drawing up & all I get is clear water. Is it possible it could be too thick for the sprayers? I have to use about 100' of hose, but the pressure seems ok. Other spray liquids seem to spray ok.
    A

Sevin Concentrate should not clog up hose end sprayers, if they are cleaned after every use. We have just added a new hose end sprayer the Chapin 6005. This hose end sprayer can spray liquid and dilute water soluble powders without issue.

  • Asked by Toni from Closter, Nj
    05/06/2017
    Q
Can I use Sevin on my house to get rid of wasps or yellow jackets?
I have wasps or yellow jackets that have taken up residence in my house.
    A

Sevin Concentrate can be applied to fruit trees, ornamentals, vegetable gardens, shrubs, flowers, outdoor insect perimeter control in residential areas. Mix 1.5 oz - 3.0 oz per gallon of water and applied using a hand pump sprayer or a hose end sprayer. It is not labeled for treating yellow jackets or wasp nests.  Nests in ceiling areas  are best treated by drilling into the infested void and injecting the nest with Tempo 1% Dust.

    1) Locate the nest. If you are not sure exactly where the nest is located, use a listening device to hone in as close as possible to the exact location.

    2) Drill small holes directly into the nest from inside of the structure. If it is not possible to drill from the inside, the drilling can be done outside. If you do this, be sure to leave any outside entrance holes open until the beginning of fall when hatching is sure to be completed. Then the entrance may be sealed to prevent further nest establishment.

    3) Apply Tempo 1% Dust liberally using a Centrobulb Duster (for easier application)

    4) Seal any inside holes.

    5) Repeat in 3 to 4 months to control for newly hatched yellow jackets.

The ?Onslaught that comes in the Yellow Jacket kit will kill just about any type of wasp if they make contact with the product. The idea behind this kit is that you mix the Onslaught with a food item and wasps take the food item back to their nest and share it with the other wasps, killing the colony. If you have a type of wasp that does not take bait, then the kit would not be very effective. You can set out a few different food items to see if the wasps are attracted to them. If the wasps are attracted then you can use the kit successfully. If the wasps are not attracted to the food, then you should consider just spraying an insecticide such as Onslaught topically to areas where there has been wasp activity. Here are a few recommended baits: raw chicken pieces, raw fish, canned tuna, cat food, or fruit juice. Raw chicken pieces or tuna tend to work the best.

    Q
Will Sevin Concentrate it hurt the bees?
the bees are busy pollenating. the fly control predators are also busy will this hurt them? I have sprayed squashes, pumpkins and cucumbers once, but not sure if all the bugs are gone.
    A
According to the Sevin Concentrate product label "This product is highly toxic to honeybees and other bees. Do not apply to plants in bloom." Almost all insecticides are toxic to bees as they are non-selective. You can help limit any effect to bees by being careful not to apply the insecticides when bees are actively foraging in the area.

  • Asked by Angelique from Minnesota
    05/30/2016
    Q
When should I start spraying the Sevin Concentrate on my plants and will it kill my little sprouts?
I know the instructions say to start using it when you see the bugs, but I don't want to see the bugs before I start to kill them. I don't want to give them a chance to kill my pumpkins and gourds. My pumpkins and gourds have sprouted and are just starting to get little vines. If I, of course, though by the instructions on the label for the amount, when is it safe for the plants to start spraying them without damaging them?
    A

Sevin Concentrate is an insecticide designed to kill and prevent insects from infesting the vegetation you are treating. You can preventatively spray before you see bugs to get ahead of the game, and the product will not harm the plants you are spraying it on as long as you follow the instructions on the product label.

    Q
Can Sevin Concentrate be used indoors for ants?
Due to a lot of rain recently in Central Florida I am having a big ant issue all around my chicken coop in my chicken coop and now coming into the house. Can I spray the liquid 7 concentrated bug killer in my tanks 1 gallon sprayer. Not just the perimeter area my house but also the inside perimeter of my house?
    A

Sevin Concentrate  is labeled to be used outdoors only. For ants indoors, we would recommend using something like Phantom Aerosol. This can be sprayed around the baseboards, cracks and crevices, void treatment where pests harbor, nest, trail, run, and/or breed or hide. Treat into voids or to surfaces beneath cabinets, furniture, spaces between equipment, expansion joints, surfaces behind sinks, floor drains (to sewers), lockers, and water pipes.

  • Asked by Gary from New Prague, Mn
    07/22/2016
    Q
Can Sevin Concentrate be mixed with Roundup?
    A

Roundup products are non selective herbicides that kill everything they are applied to so we cannot see any valid reason to mix it with Sevin Concentrate unless you want to kill the plant/grass area you are trying to control the listed insects on.  That being said, as long as both product labels are followed you could do so but we would recommend doing a compatibility test.

  • Asked by Perry from Lakeland Fl

    Q
Can you spray Sevin for fleas inside
    A
Sevin is only labeled for outdoor use so would not be used inside.

We recommend using the Indoor Flea Kit. The Indoor Flea Kit with Alpine Aerosol and CimeXa dust treats over 2000 sq. ft. of space and is an excellent combination for long-lasting flea control. The kit contains two cans of Alpine Aerosol which is one of the safest professional grade flea sprays for use indoors and was recently classified as a reduced risk product by the EPA. It provides excellent control of fleas and contains an IGR as well, which prevents adult fleas from being able to lay eggs, eventually halting the flea reproductive cycle.  You'll also get two bottles of CimeXa Dust which is a safe, odorless, non-staining dust that is perfect for spreading on carpets, floor coverings, in cabinets, under furniture cushions, and other areas where fleas tend to harbor.  As fleas come into contact with CimeXa, the dust literally dries the fleas out causing eventual death.  These two products together create a powerful double punch providing excellent, safe and lasting indoor flea control.
