    Q
Sevin Granules got in my Swimming Pool
I am concerned that a small amount of Sevin Granules may have gotten in my pool. I had ants in the spaces between the concrete sections of the pool deck where the wood has deteriorated & put Sevin in the spaces. I thought the granules couldnt get into the pool because the deck slopes away from the water & I carefully hosed the Sevin away from the pool today, but noticed that the spaces butted against the pool coping and some probably got in the pool when I hosed the granules away. I would like to know about the toxicity of Sevin in a 22,000 gallon pool. The 'half-life of Sevin? And when would it be save to use the pool or if I need to drain it. Thank you very much for your reply.

    Q
How Long after application to check results
I used the seven Granuales on lawn and in the garden and watered it in. When should i expect results or lift patches of grass to be sure it was effective?
    A
It will take time to eliminate whatever pest are in your lawn areas that you treated. You did not specify exactly what pest you are trying to eliminate so it would be hard to give you a rough time frame on it without knowing that information. On average most pest can be eliminated with a few months and 2 applications.

    Q
We applied the Sevin granules to our yard and ever since then the yard has been pretty wet from the weather.
I need to know when my dog can go in the yard? It has not fully dried because of the weather and its been 4 days.
    A
If the Sevin granules have been washed away it should be safe for the pets to re-enter the area but try to keep them off the lawn as long as possible til it at least dries some. Keep an eye out for puddles that the dogs could potentially drink from in the yard and keep them away from those until gone. If you have any other worries, contact the manufacturer as they will better be able to tell you the side effects if any that the pets would incur. GardenTech:1-866-945-5033

  • Asked by Nette from Bflo Ny

    Q
Can I still use Sevin Insecticide Granules product and then assume that the rain will do the trick?
    I don't have a garden hose.
    A

Sevin Insecticide Granules can be watered in by rain. Please keep in mind that failure to water in the granules can lead to treatment failure because the chemical cannot be released fron the granule and will not be available to the pests. The dry granules usually fall into the thatch layer of the grass, and will largely not be available to pets and people walking over the surface so they should not pose any danger to you or your pets. Everyone should stay off of the grass until the area has had a chance to dry.

  • Asked by Morrye from Red Oak, Nc
    02/26/2017
    Q
How long does Sevin Granules remain in the soil?
We are getting a new puppy in two weeks. Is it safe to use immediately?
    A

Sevin can be applied 4 times per year as needed for the target pest. (For instance you may only need to use it in the Spring/Summer and may apply 4 times during that period vs applying every 3 months). After spreading the granules across your lawn they would need to be watered in to activate the ingredients. Once they have been watered in and the water dries, your pup will be safe to play/chew to its hearts content. Normally a safe time frame to wait after watering is 1-2 hours.
