Apparently our lawn was infested with chinch bugs that's why a half acre of it died. I bought a 2.5 gallon jug of Carbaryl and applied it through a 14-gallon spray tank as directed. It's fall of 2020. I will inspect the lawn in the spring and see if the stuff actually works, but this is an old school insecticide. I would not doubt that this is nothing more than finally ground calcium carbonate and water which would obviously affect the insects but is not really a chemical treatment. Fine with me if it works. And Bayer is making millions off of this product. Limestone is $14 a ton in my area. Correct me if I'm wrong, it has no odor and is gritty like ground limestone (calcium carbonate). Regardless of my observations I hope it works and I could eventually re-seed my lawn in the spring.

Had a horrible infestation of leafhoppers where many would jump with each step on my once beautiful lawn. We tried Bifen and it was more like food and they brought their friends to the picnic. I finally contacted a specialist in my area and they told me with such a large infestation to use Carbaryl. Sevin sold in other places has changed the active ingredient, but thank goodness Domyown still has this product. One application and I can walk on my lawn again. We will do one additional application as our infestation was massive. Obviously I highly recommend this product, at least for leafhoppers!
