    Q
Can Snapshot 2.5 TG by stored and saved over for next year after opening bag?
Since it comes in such a large bag, I cannot use all of it in one year. Will is save over until next year?
    A
Yes. You can easily keep a granule like Snapshot for 2 to 3 years as long as you store it in a cool, dry place.  The biggest thing is that you need to make sure no moisture gets to the product while in storage.  Otherwise it can remain effective for years.  Most people store it in a large Tupperware or 5 gallon bucket with a lid after opening it.

    Q
What is the best way to apply snapshot to mulch beds: overtop of mulch or underneath?
for years I have been doing it overtop the mulch and seen to get pretty good weed control, with rain in less than a week.
    A
If you have had good weed control by applying over top, then that is still fine to do.  As long as you water in the product very well, it should be fine.  However, the preferred method would be to remove the mulch and apply underneath and water it in well and then cover it back up since the ground level is where it has to get to work.

    Q
Looking for the best pre emergent herbicide for our landscaped area, NOT lawn.
Have extensive irregular bordered landscape with evergreen shrubs on drip system. Have used Amaze or Preen in the past, but looking for easier application, longer effective period, and more weed types targeted. I have outdoor pets, so need something safe for them to walk through. Have looked at several products that you carry, but am even more uncertain what to use. Can you suggest a product please?
    A
Snapshot is formulated for use in landscaped areas and around ornamental plantings such as shrubs, bushes and trees and should not harm your shrubs. We do recommend that you review the Snapshot product label to be sure your shrub species is listed as a tolerant plant.  Pets should be out of the area while doing the treatment and until the area dries after watering in.

  • Asked by Kim from Flowery Branch, Ga
    12/31/2011
    Q
Can Snapshot be put on top of pinestraw covered beds and then be watered in?
    A
Yes, Snapshot can be placed in pine straw covered beds and watered in.  Just make sure that you use plenty of water so the snapshot makes it down to the soil level.  The best scenario would be to rake back the pine straw and apply snapshot and water it in, then place the pine straw back. If that is not feasible, then it can be applied to the top layer, just needs to be watered in adequately.

    Q
How long before seed germination can Snapshot be applied?
I am trying to control the sprouting of annual grasses.

Since every part of the country is different, we recommend calling your local county extension office for proper application times in your area.  They will know exactly when you should apply a pre-emergent for best results.

  • Asked by Hugo from Kingsburg ,ca.
    02/10/2015
    Q
Is Snapshot 2.5 TG good for lawns if so directions please
    Nutsedge
    A
Snapshot 2.5 TG should not be applied to turf grasses. Snapshot 2.5 TG is meant to be used in landscape beds and around trees. We do carry pre-emergent herbicides and post-emergent herbicides for your lawn. Dimension 2EW would be a great pre-emergent herbicide to control broadleaf and grassy weeds. Also, there are no pre-emergent herbicides that will control Nutsedge, you must control it with a post emergent product like Sedgehammer.

  • Asked by Jeff from Budd Lake, New Jersey
    02/26/2012
    Q
How long after application of Snapshot before I can overseed my lawn?
    A
Since Snapshot is a pre-emergent, meaning that it prevents seeds from germinating, you should not apply any seeds you want to grow and germinate for awhile, since Snapshot will prevent them from germinating.  For this reason, you should not overseed for at least 4 to 6 months after applying snapshot.
