    Can I use Snapshot to prevent weeds in flower beds, annuals, perennials, and ornamental woody plants?

    Snapshot is a selective pre-emergent herbicide that provides control of listed annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in landscape ornamentals, ground covers, perennials, non-bearing fruit and nut trees, container grown ornamentals, non-bearing vineyards, field-grown ornamentals and non-cropland. Please refer to the product label for complete mixing and applications instructions as well as a list of tolerable plant species and targeted weeds.

    Is Snapshot 2.5 TG safe to use on Zoysia grass?
    Does it come in a smaller size?

    Snapshot 2.5 TG cannot be used on lawns.  Snapshot 2.5 TG is meant to be used in landscape beds and around trees. We do carry pre-emergent herbicides and post-emergent herbicides for your lawn. Please let us know the type of turfgrass you have and what weeds you are targeting and we can help you select a product that will fit your needs.

    Can I transplant fully grown daylilies into Snapshot treated soil?
    I have a newly tilled weed-free bed that I want to treat with Snapshot and then move mature daylilies from a weedy bed to the new bed.

    We would recommend to wait several weeks to move the day lily after Snapshot application. Please be cautious because the flowers will be stressed from transplanting.

    Is Fusilade II the equivalent for Sedgehammer herbicide?
    I spoke to you about post emergent for around my asiatic jasmine.

    No. Sedgehammer has the active ingredient Halosulfuron-methyl 75% while Fusilade has the active ingredient Fluazifop-P-Butyl Technical 24.5%. These are completely different products.

    Will Snapshot effect spring time bulbs in a landscape planting?

    Snapshot 2.5 TG should not be applied to bulbs while they are flowering per the manufacturer. It should only be applied prior to flowering and after flowering. Please refer to the product label for specific application instructions on the product.

    Can Snapshot TG hurt your skin if there is a slight wind when applying?
    A

    Snapshot 2.5 TG is safe when used according to the product label. Ideally you would want to apply on a day with no wind to minimize excess drift of the product into non target areas. If you are wearing the proper PPE (personal protective equipment) as listed on the Product Label- long sleeve shirt, long pants, shoes plus socks- then there should be minimal chance of the product contacting your skin. If some does blow and touch your skin, just rinse and wash it with soapy water.

    Snapshot 2.5 TG is a pre-emergent herbicide that needs to be activated with about 0.5 inches of rainfall or irrigation. If you are expecting extremely heavy rains, then it would be best to delay your application so that your barrier is not disturbed. Snapshot should be activated within 3 days of application for best results. Repeat applications at 150 lbs per Acre or higher should not be made sooner than 60 days, per the product label.

    Crabgrass control in ground cover
    Hi, I contacted you last year about several issues in my ground cover juniper bushes. You suggested Snapshot and that helped alot. My problem is I also have crabgrass in this ground cover and while it controlled most weeds, it didn't help at all with crabgrass. Is there another product you can recommend that I can use in addition to the Snapshot that would be better for the crabgrass? I don't want to kill the ground cover just control weeds and crabgrass. What is the best month to apply the pre-emergent for east Tennessee? I think last year I spread it at the end of March.

    Fusilade is a good option to use for crabgrass and other grassy weeds in juniper as directed on the product label.  As far as timing for a pre-emergent like Snapshot, it should be applied before soil temperatures reach 55 degrees.  If the Snapshot did not prevent the crabgrass it sounds like it was applied too late.  You may also contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region.

    Is it save to plant in raised beds where Snapshot 2.5 TG was used on the outside?
    We have raised vegetable beds with pavers in between them. My husband used Snapshot on the pavers, not in the raised beds, and now I am afraid to plant vegetables.

    You should not plant or consume edible vegetation that has been treated with Snapshot 2.5 TG  or use the treated soil on vegetables.

    Is Snapshot safe to use on Japanese maples?
    A

    Snaptshot 2.5 TG is labeled for use around a wide variety of species of maple trees, including varieties of Japanese maples, as long as they are established plants. You may want to check your use rates and make sure its not being over applied for weed prevention in those areas, or take a break from using it to see if the life of the tree improves. You can also utilize an arborist in your area to inspect the tree for any signs that could be causing the decline like lack of nutrients, insects, or disease.

    what happens if I put Snapshot over my tomato plants?
    Would it harm the plants or make the fruit harmful for consumption?
    A
    Snapshot Herbicide is not for use around any edibles or where you plan to plant edibles. If Snapshot has been used around tomatoes or other vegetables, you would need to discard of the plant/fruit and would need to wait a full year before you could harvest crops from an area treated with it. Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder can be used on tomatoes being transplanted into the ground only and cannot be used if grown from seed. If you prefer a granule Hi Yield Herbicide Granules can be applied prior to transplanting of tomatoes as well.

    Can you apply Snapshot twice, in Spring and Fall?
    I applied early this spring, it worked great but now the weeds are coming back Can I apply a second application at the end of July/ August

    Yes, you could apply Snapshot more than once during the year in accordance with the product label. Fall applications will help control winter weeds such as poa annua. Repeat applications at 150 lb per Acre and higher should not be made sooner than 60 days after a previous application of Snapshot 2.5 TG. Do not apply over 600 lb per Acre total of Snapshot 2.5 TG within a 12-month period. Be sure to follow label precautions in areas where you may intend to transplant or grow other plants in the future.

    Which pre-emergent products do you recommend for over-the-top application of Liriope Muscart 'Big Blue' ?
    I have 500 recently planted bare root Liriope plants and 3500 established (one to four year old) Liriope plants. I also have a large number of Ajuga (Burgundy Glow I think) plants that have no spaces between the plants (except for multiple types of weeds!). Please recommend pre-emergent and post-emergent products that can be applied over these plants that will help minimize weeds without harming the Liriope and Ajuga. Thank you!!

    Snapshot 2.5 TG is one of our most popular pre-emergent herbicides for use around ornamentals and ground covers, and several types of liriope are listed as tolerant on the product label. These plants would need to be established before applying the Snapshot or most other pre-emergent herbicides. A popular post-emergent for use around liriope is Fusilade II Herbicide, which will target grassy weeds. Always read the product label before purchasing and applying herbicides to ensure that it will fit your needs.

    How frequently can I apply Snapshot 2.5 TG?
    I spread Snapshot over a large area today that has lots of weeds. When will I need to apply again? My weeds include Dandelion, wild onions, Thisle, clover & tall grasses. The bank is steep, eroded & difficult to walk on. Dandy's are just blooming now. This bank faces east & has a few evergreens & hardwoods. It's about 100 yds. long & 20 yds. at one end & triples that height at the other end. I use spread rite gravity flow hand spreader. It covers about a 3' spread. Thank you, Katrina

    You must wait at least 60 days between Snapshot 2.5 TG applications. You cannot apply more than 600 lbs per acre per year.

    Flower beds are outlined on my lawn. What if some or little gets on the lawn?

    Your lawn may be damaged in the areas where Snapshot is applied. It is important to do your best to keep the granules out of your lawn.
