  • Asked by Scott from Knoxville, Tn

    Q
How long should I wait before returning nursery stock to an area treated with Snapshot 2.5 TG?
Looking to see if there is any danger to container nursery stock placed on top of treated areas after being watered in.
    A

If you just want to place containerized plants on top of an area treated with Snapshot 2.5 TG, then we would recommend waiting until the application has been watered in and the area is dry. If there is a lot of movement while the application is wet, then you may disrupt the barrier and get inconsistent treatment from the Snapshot application.

    Q
Does Snapshot 2.5 TG kill Skeletonweed?
    A

Snapshot 2.5 TG - 50 lbs. does not kill any weeds.  It will only prevent seeds from germinating but it does not list skeletonweed on the label as a controlled weed.  We do apologize but we are not able to find a product that is labeled for it and would work.  We did find this article here that might help.

    Q
Will Snapshot harm other oaks, like white oak?
I only saw a few oak species listed for snapshot to used on.
    A

Snapshot is a great product and listed for many tolerable species and targeted weeds. We would only recommend applying near the ones listed on the product label. We cannot comment on the safety around a different plant, flower or tree variety that is not listed.

    A

Per the product label for Snapshot 2.5 TG - 50 lbs: Accidential application to turf may occur when applying.  It is not recommended for weed control in turfgrass, but turfgrasses are generally tolerant to small amounts of the product that fall outside of the intended area of application.

  • Asked by Eric from Woodbridge, Va

    Q
How should I apply Snapshot 2.5 TG to my tall fescue grass?
I have tall fescue grass. I have purple color weeds all over the yard. Moran Landscaping recommended this product. I need to know if it needs to be applied to the entire yard or just the area with the purple weeds.
    A

Snapshot 2.5 TG - 50 lbs. is not labeled for weed control in turfgrass in any way and would not be recommended, it is only for landscaped areas, ground covers, etc.  It is a pre-emergent herbicide only and does not kill any actively growing emerged weeds.

    A

Snapshot 2.5 TG - 50 lbs.  is not labeled for Creeping Red Fescue. We would not advise applying Snapshot.  We do want to offer Pennington Pro 0-0-7 which is listed to help prevent weeds safely in Creeping Red Fescue.

    Q
Can I use Snapshot TG to soil before a installed sod?
I have a backyard full of weeds and want to put sod but I want to kill the weeds before they grow with the new sod.
    A

Snapshot 2.5 TG should not be applied to turf grasses. Snapshot 2.5 TG is meant to be used in landscape beds and around trees. We do carry pre-emergent herbicides and post-emergent herbicides for your lawn. Please let us know the type of turfgrass you have and what weeds you are targeting and we can help you select a product that will fit your needs.

    Q
I made the mistake of using Snapshot on a freshly planted grass seed area.
Will this kill the grass trying to grow?
    A

Snapshot 2.5 TG is not labeled to be used over grass/seeded areas.  It may prevent the grass seed from germinating in the area.  You may want to contact the manufacturer directly to see what (if anything) can be done.  You can reach Dow by calling 800-992-5994.

    Q
Can Snapshot 2.5 TG be applied at the same time as Dimension to prevent more weeds in a very large liriope bed?
    A

It does not need to be applied along with Dimension 2EW as they are both pre-emergent herbicides. Snapshot 2.5 TG is one of our most popular pre-emergent herbicides for use around ornamentals and ground covers, and several types of liriope are listed as tolerant on the product label. These plants would need to be established before applying the Snapshot or most other pre-emergent herbicides. A popular post-emergent for use around liriope is Fusilade II Herbicide, which will target grassy weeds. Always read the product label before purchasing and applying herbicides to ensure that it will fit your needs.
