Soil Moist Mats is an effective product at reducing plant waterings to help save time and labor. It consists of water storing polymer and non-toxic crystals that are woven into a bio-degradable cloth. It will release water to the soil and plant roots once the soil begins to dry for an extended period of time, keeping the soil conditions just right for your plants. APPLICATIONS:
The mat is cut in 7 in. x 7 in. squares. 15.75 in. x 15 ft. long rolls are available for large installations. From the chart, place the appropriate amount of mats 1-2 in. below where the root system of the plant will be placed. If using more than one mat, Place plant and remaining soil in the container or plant hole. Water the newly planted material liberally.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Shall be crosslinked polyacrylamide polymer that has a minimum of 95.5% active material. Polymer shall hold over 200 times its weight in tap water rated at 160 mg of NaCl per liter of water, with a pH of 6.0-7.0. Laminate shall be multi-layered to eliminate any product loss and contain a minimum of 160 grams of crosslinked polyacrylamide polymer per square yard of material. Laminate shall be biodegradable and each pad (7 in. x 7 in.) shall hold a minimum of one quart (32 ounces) of water.

This listing states that there are 6 mats in the package and that each mat is cut into 7"x7" squares so how many squares in each mat? For a total of how many squares per package? Can each 7" square be cut into smaller pieces?
